One of our very best hotel experiences ever, absolutely great and kind staff made the service most personal (we knew almost the entire staff on a first name basis). Like staying as a guest at your best friends home, but much better! Always available, always helpful, never intrusive - perfect! And the L'Otoile D'Orient served us without question our very best meal in Marrakech - beef tagine, the best couscous we ever tasted, a strawberry cream mousse, and more. We also enjoyed a wonderful hamman.
kaikki arvostelut » I absolutely loved this riad! There are lots of good riads in Marrakech but please stay in this one at least one night! The location is perfect, 3 min away walking to Djemma el Fna square. Staff is very nice and friendly. We got back to the riad from shopping and dining around midnight and we wanted mint tea sooo bad that we asked the person at the front desk if we could have some and he made some tea for us. I don't remember his name, I wish I did so I can give him credit here.. I really loved. Staff were welcoming and made every effort to help with orientation and planning. Excursions arranged by the hotel were very efficiently organised and good value for money. Everything from the airport pick-up to the bar bill and all excursions were added to the room charge and paid on check-out. Our room (Atlas) was small but with adequate storage, a superking size bed and a lovely bathroom. The courtyard lounge area was pleasant and comfortable. We were impressed by these facilities, represent. A Riad is a guest house rather than a hotel. This one was spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast on the roof was excellent even if the view of the neighbouring properties wasn't great. We opted for the evening meal at this Riad on our first day and it was easily the best meal we had in Marrakech. You probably couldn't get a better location if you want to explore the Medina. The 'big square' was two minutes away and the Berber Market less than one minute. Everything about our stay at Riad l'Etoile D'Orient was superb from start to finish. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the jacuzzi on the rooftop was the icing on the cake! We had a lovely breakfast on the rooftop each morning with stunning views of the Atlas mountains. The location of the Riad was perfect, 2 minutes walk from the main square and souks. I really can't recommend this Riad highly enough and will definitely return. Fantastic raid wonderful staff ...Rachid, Abla , and Frank not to forget the sweetest team of cleaning ladies . The best place to stay within the medina without a doubt . Yes,b you do hear the imam call in the early morning as another client wrote ,but anywhere you stay inside the city walls in Marocco you'll hear that ! It's part of the experience ! Thanks to all ....will definitely return !. The hotel was very modern but had a moroccan twist to it. It was built from the ground up by the owner and it shows with the attention to detail, the facilities were superb. Great hotel at a very reasonable price. Staff were always pleasant and made you feel very welcome. Great location only a few minutes walk to the main square. Western showers were welcome! (as opposed to other places we stayed where you needed to sit down and hold a hose over your head to have a "shower") and very clean, well appointed rooms with safe, hair dryers etc. When we arrived in Marrakech, we experienced a light cultural shock. This hotel made our holiday! It was like a little peaceful island in the heart of noisy Medina. Location was great, breakfast was tasty, interior was stunning and staff was friendly. We are delighted!. Staff were excellent. The roof terrace had a beautiful view of the Atlas mountains and the hot tub was great! We organised a trip which meant that we would miss breakfast, however the staff work early for us and ensured that we could have breakfast at an earlier time. I stay only one night and did't had a time for SPA or diferen other options what u can find in this place. Staff very friendly, breakfast was included. The location was execellent, the room was spacious and the staff were very efficient and helpful with nothing being a problem. We liked it so much we booked a return room on our way back through Marrakech. Everything at this traditional style hotel was fantastic. such a great place to relax and unwind, with such charming and funny staff. Nothing was a problem. Help was always at hand. This is a great hotel and value for money. It is well located, very clean, lovely staff who went out of their way to please. I would definately stay there next time. The breakfasts are fine if all you are expecting is one choice of cereal and good quality bread butter and jam. All other breakfast items were of indifferent quality. We would have preferred to pay a little more for a better breakfast. For example, the omelette was made unpalatable by the type and overuse of oil. The air conditioning in our room did not seem to work. They could not accommodate us for dinner that night which was a shame, apparently you need to book 3 months in advance for dinner! Communication was not particularly good, I had to stand at reception that morning and actually call the reception from my mobile to get someone to come downstairs and tell me where breakfast was!. Wifi is available for free but the signal is a little low in the rooms. An important note for young women travelling alone or in groups: have a male guide around the city/ travel with a male companion to limit male attention from locals. Location in the center of the Medina, old city. At first time a little bit difficult to find a place with out any navigation system. Big market on the main street and to many young, crafty, recless and agressive people. Be careful especialy at the evening and if u travel alone it must be dangerous in this area. After 9-10 pm market is closed and all streets clear from the people. Be careful if u go out for a dinner outside the old city or to the square El Fna and back to the hotel after 10 pm. Nothing. The breakfast could be better. people dont speak english, but they are nice and try to understand and help. not good reachable for a taxi. Breakfast on the terrace was a bit cold some mornings. the room had no window/view. we had a slight smell in our room not pleasant. Extra payment for carrying the luggage from the square to the hotel. I do not mind giving the tip but requesting the double amount that i gave was not what i expected. But anyway, its a silly small thing, i can not say a bad word about this place. Could possibly benefit from a sign hanging outside the front door so isn't as easily missed. the hamman, too expensive for what was only a steam room with a quick wash. When we arrived we weren't shown around or made to feel welcome. Another member of staff was more helpful the next day. The food was not really up to the standard expected for the cost.
