It was by far an extremely pleasing experience. We were going to be there for week for my friend wedding. Starting from the time our driver greeted us at the ferry from St. Thomas until the time he dropped us off at that same ferry on our way off of the island, we were blown away constantly at the beauty of their grounds and the friendliness of their staff. It was our first time on the Island and Gallows Point helped make or experience far better than I could have imagined. We stayed in room 15.
all reviews » perfect spot to snorkel, best location on the island close enough to walk to town and far enough from town so it is still quite and serene setting. You cab rent Jeeps and snorkel gear right in the resort. All the rooms have kitchens so you don't have to eat out every day because it is quite expensive, and most restaurants in the Island are not that great. Outstanding accommodations, fully equipped kitchen, huge dinning / living room, great view from the large balcony, easy beach/pool access. The gift shop helped with activities, rented us snorkel equipment, and pointed us to the places to go. Walking distance to all the action in Cruz Bay. I loved the atmosphere it was beautiful.. And how much of a close walk it was to town, resturants and bars, definately good for people who like to stay up late and party because it is very close to a lot of noisy bars. It was clean comfortable and everyone was so nice. We absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED our room, the view from our balcony, the snorkeling at Gallows Point (right out front of our room), the spectacular sunsets, the store staff, and the catamaran cruise on the Kekoa. Also, Marcy was great with reservations. We loved the location that we could walk to shops and restaurants while feeling very private where we stayed. Beautiful views of the water, can snorkel or relax at pool. Helpful in renting a car, taking ferry's, etc. Fabulous accommodations at perfect location! Small size is perfect, lush landscaping, views to die for from every unit! Excellent service, convenient gourmet shop always open. Great value - will definitely be back!. Location was perfect- close to the small town so we could go out to dinner; the resort was BEAUTIFUL- the pool overlooking the ocean, the grounds, the beach- just perfect!. Staff very helpful, location to everything was close & great, items available to use in condo like cooler, snorkel stuff & kitchen, beach chairs. Beautiful, even more than what it looks like in the pictures. A great value for the (very significant amount of) money. Location, apartment very well decorated and clean. Pleasant layout, and very airy and light. The resort provides an overall luxury stay that is one with nature. Location, condo accommodations, beaches., Friendly staff. The maid service was kind of slow and once we came in our room in the middle of the day and one of them was sitting on our couch but other than that, zero complaints here. there is not really a beach...it is rocky and you cant really swim with kids because it is too rocky, but no big deal...the scenary was beauitiful......the front desk was not very friendly...one woman was scary and I was afraid to ask her anything but I avoided her and enjoyed my stay. It's tough to think of something, but others may expect more. This is a condo-style property, without some typical resort amenities. We had no meals on property (although the restaurant was highly recommended) and there was no gym that I know of. But we walked right outside into the ocean for snorkeling! And all the restaurants and bars of Cruz Bay are a five minute walk. Every night we could hear the music from the local bars.. And its not the resorts fault, but it did suck when we were so tired and had to get up early the next morning and the musiic didn't stop pounding until 4am... And no activities or anything is free at the resort in the despcrition it seemed as if theyre were activities included for free but theyre not. A couple members at the front desk weren't particularly friendly - they were cordial, but that was it. Anna, Marcy, the GM, the store crew - they were all fabulous!! Also, one morning we asked for a 6 am wake-up call and didn't get it until 6:17 am - that was NOT good. Another time, we phoned the front desk to have a taxi out front in 20 mins - and they said "we will call a taxi when you show up at the desk" - weren't impressed by that!. Nothing. Late night noise from Cruz Bay harbor. More children there than anticipated, shower had low water pressure. The staff at the front desk is not very nice, but that is far from ruining the experience. I had to leave!. Getting there, especially the taxi ride in St Thomas. Pricey restaurants.
