Breakfast- not your typical hotel breakfast, omelet, pancakes, waffles, fruit Wifi-WORKS decent speed .3 miles to food on Riverwalk Staff is friendly and answered lots of questions for me, and always with a smile. I loved the location, and the employees willingness to help. You are downtown, just a block or two from seeing the action, yet at night its a good enough distance, so you dont hear all the noise in the street.

Very nice luxurius looks like it use to be one of the nice hotels years ago now not so popular but its kept nice and pretty still love the pool on the 3rd floor. The location was great...just a short walk to the restaurants and shops. The welcome staff and bar & grill staff where friendly and accommodating. I liked the privacy. I liked the helpful staff. The beds were extremely comfortable. The coffee and breakfast were amazing. It was exceptionally clean. I was pleased with everything from the valet parking to the staff at the desk. Our room was clean and the view of the city was amazing. Located on the prettiest and serene section of the Riverwalk, yey just a10 minute walk away from the busiest section of the Riverwalk. the friendly staff and the hotel in general, beautiful and comfortable stay, the rooms were so comfy, felt at home. People were nice, the rate with discounts was good, there was a good view from our room and It's on the Riverwalk. The place was clean Good Breakfast Friendly Staff convenient parking Great experience!. Bellman in the morning was very helpful, found me discount coupons to everything. It was clean and room service was quick. Everything is pricey......valet $30 room service is high to start then the actual price is higher than whats listed plus $2 del fee + 20% service fee+ 8.25% tax.....so $20 order is really $22.50 + $2 +$5 + $1.60= $31.10 for $20 cheeseburger I don't like being nickled and dimed, I don't mind paying just put the correct price from start. The price probably wasnt the best we could get for our money, and also there were a lot of bad review(not all of which I agree with after actually staying), after reading them I called the hotel and was asking a few questions and the lady I spoke with was really rude, which made me regrett booking there before I had even been there. Also parking prices were outragous, I think it should be included in the price or if you are spending alot of money there then it should be complimentery. The cost of valet parking was higher than advertised on the booking online. Dint like that I had to pay gor breakfast cause they dint give me the slips they forgot ha!. Elevators are slow and for the majority of our stay only one was working. Calls for room service and valet always were redirected to front desk then redirected back to room service and valet. Nothing. Being so close to the bus station could be less than safe. The distance from the actual Riverwalk activities was quite a walk. We had no problem with it, but I was concerned about my older parents. We did feel safe walking after dark. Lack of complimentary Wi-Fi. A fee was charged for Wi-Fi use. It seemed like the carpets were starting to show some age - not bad but not the best either. The entrance to the riverwalk is nice but much less so than several other hotels. Parking was too expensive. Front desk staff when asked directions, explained them but did not offer a map that was on a side counter out of site. House cleaning did a lazy job of cleaning room. Refusing to move an item off of the bed, thus being "unable to make it". Never heard of that!. The convention at hotel! The people were loud and disguising! Kids running everywhere with no supervision! Trash dropped outside of rooms! Waited forever for elevator. N/A. Expensive parking. No complimentary coffee in lobby. Perhaps a refrig and or microwave in room. We wanted a king size and none available so perhaps those things are in a larger room. No room keys were available to first night Elevator wasnt working for a period of time. Surprised that no complimentary breakfast was available. The elevator sometimes took to long. Not a great part of town. Too far down on the Riverwalk. Stayed on 17th floor and only one elevator was working. We had to carry our bags down 17 floors. Husband ended up with elbow injury. Located a little farther away from the main area of the river walk than originally thought when reservations were made. Parking lot overcharge. Not all the elevators worked. A bit noisy in the halls. Nothing. Problems with computer setup in lobby. Never saw the trolley stopping at the designated stop, and it was a long walk to the convention center. Wish they had a shuttle to take us different places. We don't mind walking but to much walking for 3 days was tiring. There were only two elevators out of 4 in use so the wait times were very long. Breakfast and time to check out. bathroom. services were expensive. Parking rates. Somewhat shoddy room service...both times we didn't get exactly what we ordered or something (like salad dressing) was missing. Also, our first night there, none of the pillows had cases and we had to wait a 1/2 hour for some to be brought up. Staff not friendly Internet access additional cost too high also frustrating and inconvenient. The other parking lot got in late and had to park there. Thought we would have been closer to Riverwalk and the Alamo. Needs more or smarter elevators. Waiting a lot, and crowded when it did come. * Coffee pot, mugs and water glasses in the BATHROOM - Ugh! Could not bring myself to have a complimentary cup of coffee or use the glasses! * They need to be outside that area!. This hotel is old or looks that way. Very dilapidated - needs some updating. Our Suite had the biggest roach I have ever laid eyes on in it as well. Hotel is dated and needs renovated. Not sure this is practical since San Antonio appears to be having the same issues as other cities, a decaying downtown area. The convention center is nice as is the Riverwalk but if you walk around town the empty buildings tell the story. I'm sure in it's day the Crown Plaza was a grand place but by today's standards, it doesn't measure up to a new Holiday Inn Express. The bar and registration counter staff could throw in a smile for free. It felt as if we were bothering them and they were going our of their way by doing us the favor of serving us a drink or checking us out. Smiles, please, and thank yous are free, pleople! Also, the rooms could use a microwave and fridge with drinksl. I was disappointed that there was not a microwave or refrigerator in the room. Once you get off the elevators, it's like a time machine. It is very outdated. You could hear electrical and water running in the walls. Front desk staff was unfriendly the lady that checked us in didn't know anything that was going around in the area couldn't recommend anything had this whole hurry up and get out of my face attitude and we were the only ones checking in at that time. Remote control did not work for TV. Had to wait 10 minutes for elevator and its a pretty long walk to self park. We did not report since we were only there one night. The wireless internet did not work...I spent an hour with the technican, and the next morning I found an ethernet wire under the table and it worked...The female front desk argued with me that they only have wireless and I was mistaken....very discourteous to me...room 1225 does not have wireless...only ethernet.... Also,two of the four elevators were out of commission... Dated rooms. Could not get the free internet to work in lobby. waiting long time to take taxi. Location is far away from center. The hotel is very old. It didn't come with complementary breakfast!!!!.
