This was my second stay at The Bowery and I still love it. You really feel like you are in NY not the tourist version of NY that you see on TV (if that makes sense). The location of the hotel is perfect for my needs. If shopping is your thing, then you are within walking distance of Soho. There are loads of great bars and restaurants within walking distance but if you don't feel like venturing out then you should find something in the lobby menu or Gemma to satisfy your gastronomical desires.

This is our place from now on!!! Will bring my husband in Oct. love your employees. Very genuine. Excellent hotel restaurant, lobby bar, and close to other world class restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Some of the most comfortable beds in nyc. If you are looking at staying at the SoHo Grand, but want to try something more comfortable and truly cool, stay at the Bowery Hotel. You'll really like it. The style is a wonderful mixture of reclaimed architecture and modern comfort. The scale of the spaces is very human and inviting. We enjoyed the peaceful back patio for hours, drinking, eating, and people watching. We were there for the music business, and the location is perfect for walking to great restaurants, and the music clubs. the neighbor hood is fun, young, and low key. Love it!!!. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. All the staff we came across were friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortably and thoughtfully laid out, eg electrical sockets by the mirrors. Champagne was laid on in the room for our arrival as it was my birthday. Perfect location for where we wanted to be in town. Would definately stay again whenever in New York. The staff were incredible. The branding and design is really well done. The hotel has NYC style and swagger. There is just the right amount of luxury. The baths are incredible and the food from Gemma's next door is outstanding. The housekeeping, door staff and concierge were all smiles and very helpful. I absolutely loved my stay here and I will return. A cool, Boho feel with an old-school New York feel. Loved the views from our corner room with floor-to-ceiling windows, the enormous marble bath with windows overlooking the East Village skyline, and the wood-panelled lift with brass fittings. Would wholehearted recommend this effortlessly cool, luxurious but unpretentious place. The room was just the right size; very picturesque and quite comfortable. I found the style of the hotel charming. The room service menu was quite good and the speed of delivery the best I've experienced in any high-end hotel. I have already recommended it to others. Enjoyed the old world feel from the attentive staff to the historic home feel of the furnishings, very inviting and comforting. Could use some major improvements on the food offered, not well thought out, visual presentation and freshness poor. Can't think of a thing I didn't like, except leaving. Nothing. The gym lacks enough floor space for more than four people to work out at a time. Nothing. My one -- minor -- complaint was not enough closet space. This may have just been the size of my room and it was not bad, but I would have preferred more. Painting the hall when I arrived and almost got wet paint on my wool coat - no warning until you were off the elevator and amongst the paint! Better fresher foods, gluten free options better wine cellar. Better front desk to offer guidence to see best area has to offer even if on a short 3 day stay. At certain times the lobby(front desk) felt a bit small and crowded. this is not a serious issue, hotels with similar set-ups (lobby/bar) seem to have this issue and many handle it a lot worse. Having to move rooms was a pain - when we were initially pug in a room above the function room. The pillows were a little too soft (but that's just a personal preference). A couple of the staff serving drinks in the lounge weren't particularly attentive on the first afternoon/early eve - they were too busy chatting to each other to see if any guests needed anything!. I requested a room with a tub when I first booked the room, many weeks ahead of my stay and didn't get one. When I got there the bellman was very helpful calling the manager to try and remedy the situation but the hotel was full. It may not seem like a big deal but I had been taking care of sick kids all week and was thinking about being in a tub while I was still on the plane!! So this was a disappointment, but next time I will call ahead to make sure this works out. Couldn't find ice to fill ice bucket. We enjoyed it very much and will return. Thank you. Expensive. Great if there was a pool. Backs up to a flop house, lots of vagrants on the street. I was approached by a man selling weed in front of the hotel. There are so many light switches in the room that sometimes it was a little annoying switching them on and off. wifi very slow, cocktails could be better and the Gemma food could be better in the evenings - great for breakfast. the lack of storage in the room. The food. But, apparently, due to Thanksgiving, the "regular" chef was on holiday and there was a substitute chef. The place looks a little worn for the money. The price is too high for the size of the room. no coffee/tea facilities as standard in the room. nothing. Liked everything. The gym. Too stuffy bad air conditioning ! Needs refurb! It was very gloomy making it difficult to train. Nothing really. can't think of a thing. They did not want to extend my check out time to 1:00 pm. we had ants in our hotel. the bar was very crowded. There was a fire alarm. Went down through stairs, no one else at the bottom to let us out or tell us what was going on. Asked front desk and the told us they had no idea. Fire trucks came and went into the building. Seemed like no real manager on duty or plan. Common areas need some upgrade, some materials (floors, carpets, walls) are worn out, more than can be justifiable and not at 5* level. 1-After a long trip We arrived at noon, couldn't unpack nor change because their check in is until 3pm, so had to go away and return until 7pm. Their check out is at 11! 2- The price. Includes nothing extra 3-The darkness inside the hotel during the day. Overall rather expensive, particularly breakfast prices.
