The staff was wonderful and very accomodating. We had originally been booked in a "pet building", I don't know how, we don't even have a pet. After spending one night listening to dogs barking and whining we requested to be moved to another room and a wonderful room was found for us on the 5th floor of another building. The room was very newly redecorated, new bathroom, everything! We will ask for that building next time we stay at the Springmaid Resort!.
all reviews » This was our first time at Springmaid Resort. It was a very pleasurable stay. The accomdations were all that we could have asked for. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. They made us feel that they truly cared that we had a good experience at their resort. The view from our room was exactly what we were in Myrtle Beach for. I will recomend Springmaid Resort to my friends and look forward to visiting again. My husband and I took.our 4 girls to the beach for our 4 yr olds birthday. At first I was concerned that the resort was not kid friendly. Once Saturday morning arrived that theory was proven wrong. The resort was relaxing and convenient with so many amenities. The girls had a blast and I would so stay there again. Beds were comfy, pools were nice, pier was romantic and the beach was close. Everything was great from The minute I met the young lady cking me in. The room, housekeeping, the grounds, feeling safe out at night, the pier, I loved the swing out on the pier it was so very relaxing at Night. The restaurants were all Good and the beautiful beach. Like I said everything. Absolutely no complaints. It was on the beach and our room faced the Atlantic. Nothing fancy about the room. Pretty typical. But it was clean and is an easy location to get to once you know your way around. You can totally avoid the beach hotel traffic since it is at the southern end of Myrtle Beach. Check-in was easy, then it just kept getting better--parking ramp connected to the building, spacious room (w/balcony) overlooking the ocean, full-size fridge & microwave, and great pools & lounge chairs. For the price, this place was a most pleasant surprise. The rooms were very clean and spacious And the staff was extremely helpful at all times. The Springmaid is a great resort and we look forward to going back as soon as possible. Blake at Barnacles was a great bartender. Went out of his way to make guests feel welcome. I like that it was away from the main strip and not a lot of noise. The room looked just like the picture on website. Clean, staff was friendly. Loves the whole thing. And they has activities everyday by the pool. I would stayed again next year if not before. I loved the location. It was very peaceful, great family resort. I was worried about staying on the south end but this was even better than when we stayed in North Myrtle. The beach and pier were great. Nice size pool. Would definitely stay there again. It was easy to book a room especially during the busy "Bike Week". I booked this room last minute. The view was amazing, the cleanliness of the room was good and the parking garage made access to our room very easy. I definitely will stay here again. We liked the oceanfront in every room idea. The beds and room were very comfortable. The pools was a big plus and I really enjoyed listening to the live music on the deck while we ate "WONDERFUL"! I enjoyed the pier as well. The resort was very clean and the grounds were well kept. I liked that I didn't have to leave the resort for good food or entertainment. The pier was wonderful. I plan on booking my vacation next uear at Springmaid. It wasnt crowded like it would be staying in the center of the beach. Everyone was really friendly, they had daily activities for all ages. Great view from our room..... Everything just exceeded our expectations!. Terrific ammenities of restaraunts and activities on site. Lazy river terrific for kids. Very family friendly. We can down for some fishing friday and saturday. They were having a craft event that weekend and that was very nice as well. Everyone was courteous, friendly, and very accommodating to our needs. The lines at Marlin's were very long, in fact we never went to Marlin's. We went offsite for every meal we had. There wasn't anything negative about our visit. Hated the size of the bathroom and the elevators are slow. The price was pretty high for a hotel which so little difference. The building we were in was at the pier, so a lot of pier fishers parked in the lot that should've been just guests. Our building had a small lazy river with screaming young children at 7:30 a.m.. There was no pool at our building. Just seemed very pricey, but a great location on short notice, so can't complain too much. About my only complaint was the lack of resort supervision around the pool decks. Rowdy middle schoolers were a nuisance, and no one from the property was there to reign them in. I didn't like that we had to pay $30 to rent a chair and an umberella.I asked one of the maids for some clean towels and I was told I wasn't in her section and I would have to get them from the office. Other than that I really enjoyed my stay. We were located just over the inside pool and could not enjoy the balcony the machinery on to p of the building put out heat and it came directly onto our balcony. The biew of the ocean was not good at out location. The room had not been upgraded and there were some problems with the bath tub faucet. We paid full price for this room and I think it should have been discounted. The only thing I was frustrated with was parking. This is only because the pier is open to the public so we compete with non guest for spots. It was a pain for us because we had small children and didnt want to park far from our building at night... Small sacrifice for great hotel otherwise. One elevator down all week in the 6 floor building. Alot of repairs (fence mending, fountains off, pool cleaning, etc.) going on during our week (2nd week of June). Friends stayed in Cypress building which did not have the same ammenities as highrise building though we paid same price. Cypress more basic, no elevator. You could hear the people very clearly in adjoining rooms. If I had to state something that I didn't like it would be..having to leave a beautiful resort and starting back home. Airplanes over head (didn't notice at night time, though) Cigarette butts on beach. our room did not have an ice maker. only had one tray for ice. not a major problem,but was a bit annoying. The only thing we didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer. Elevator was warm and I am sure it will be hot in the summer months. Didn't like the way the bathroom was split up. Wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next time!!!. It didn't have a pull out couch. It also did not have a kitchenette. I didn't understand why the pool area was shut down. The location in regard to airport makes it pretty loud and the way the hotel is build with all the angles keeps you from having any privacy on the balconys. We would like waiters and bars at pool side, like our stays in Captiva, Florida. personally i think the beds were a little too hard. barnacles was very expensive and the food was not worth the price we paid for dinner!. Had to park across the street that and had a little long to pier. everything else was very nice. Not one thing. We were there for 3 nights and never saw our pool cleaned. There was mulch in the lazy river and sand in EVERYPOOL!. I was on the second floor with a partial view of the ocean due to palm trees. I enjoyed everything about it. music from barnacles was a little loud (we were right over it) as we were going to sleep, but wouldn't trade view. Pools were small and not heated. Everything was nice. It would of been good to be able to rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach. They had chairs available but no one was out there to rent them. Beds were not queen they were doubles. No extra towels or blankets in room you have to request them. Door to patio would not open. I called front desk and a very pleasant staffer had all issues taken care of very quickly while we walked to pier which is much further then it looks. Planes did fly directly over head but not often enough to disturb us. Sea was too cold, you cant affect that though :). split bathroom. the glass top to the heated pool room was cracked........ while waiting for new glass, needs to be covered temporarily to prevent draft in pool area. Price was a bit high for quality of facilities. Too many places needed repair. Parking was awful- could not even park in our lot one night. Housekeeping kept asking us when we were leaving in am- told her it would be an hour, she came back twice. Golf needs up dating- arcade was limited, out of many of prizes. Internet service was poor, but it seemed to be true of all of myrtle beach. The stairs were also a bit unkept. Having to climb the stairs with luggage. This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach. I didn't know that Springmaid was so far south. I would have preferred to be closer to the "action". Although I really liked our room. I didn't like the fact that there was no lobby or room service. an employee of springmaid told us that a BMW hit our parked trailer but no information was taken on the party at fault for the damages that was done. The fan and refrigerator both made noise, had to pay to fish at the pier. Over 1 hr. late getting our room. Could not get in room until 5 pm.
