location... location...location one metro stop from Amtrak. Secure budget hotel, 1 block from grand central market for local food stalls.Disney music hall , Dorothy Chandler,MOCA contempory art museum 2 blocks.Good base for shopping and exploring the wonders of downtown LA.....financial,jewelry and fashion districts. Don't miss the library!. Location is convenient (close to the music halls, downtown convention venues, etc.). The room was reasonably clean. There is a truly fantastic cafe (Cherry Pick Cafe) with pastries and bagels next door.

We had a couple of minor issues with the fridge and coffee machine and they readily changed our room. Close to yummy Grand Central Market, subway and not far from Flyaway bus at Union Station. The price is most reasonable and for the most part towels/sheets are clean. to Subway station Civic Center bock and next stop is Union station and 5 minutes from China Town. The refrigerator in the room was broken (overfrozen, to the extent that the door wouldn't close), and so it was constantly humming. I mentioned that to the receptionist on my first day of stay but in a week I was there nothing happened. Also, the blankets had holes in them (I guess they were quite worn out). Nothing. The room was too small for a second chair, but the other facets of the stay were so exemplary that we didn't mind. (Because we are old, we tire easily and sometimes spent daylight hours recuperating...). Paying WiFi in the rooms. Nothing. I had a motorcycle and the parking charges would be the same as a car.so I parked a block away at the city hall for free. At the hotel would have been nicer of course. smaller room. Room223 ..the door needs to be fixed!!! I could see into the hallway without getting out of bed. The bottom is about3/4 in. Open. The room smells like smoke. Minor - fridge and coffee machine in room didn't work. Quite a small room. The blankets in the rooms were old with holes, and the "kitchenette" was a a tiny bolted down coffee maker with a small refrigerator. There was no hairdryer. The beds were old and sunken in the middle. The rugs in the rooms are in need of replacement-they are dirty and worn. The beds and bed covers are also are in need of replacement. My black and white pendant went missing during my stay and was not found. Some problems with water and bath room facilities, uncomfortable bed, very hot in the halls. Prefer a ceramic cup rather than disposal paper cups. No teabags in room. The toilet didn't flush well. There was a nightclub directly under the Kawada the music was very very loud till 2am! We asked to be moved to a quieter room, the staff were apologetic. smelling cigarette smoke in the hallways. -They charge $ 5 for wifi -$ 22 for hotel parking ($ 5 in the next block) -need microwave in the kitchenette, not a stove with gas burners! -Need at least a pot and utensils -missing a nightstand (queen bed) -. Billing was initially made incorrectly for a higher rate. In the end it was corrected, after some discussion, but I would have appreciated one more smile from the staff when I pointed out the mistake. Facilities are old. The television was very small. The rooms are very small and room facilities not commensurate to the rates. Would want a gym and a pool added to the Hotel's facilities. Room was very, very small. Small and old rooms, there was not hot water in our shower, 2 hours were spent for fixing it, finally we got the other room to take shower. The room was tiny and the neighborhood was scary. We did not sleep at all the first night our room was in an alley between 2 buildings were they had the trash, homeless where looking for bottles and near a disco, I was moved 3 times during my stay and was charged more than I was supposed to. The price for the room was a complete rip off. The fridge didn't work, the room was tiny and not comfortable. Horrible hotel. Everything. The room was miniscule. They gave me a smoker's room when I explicitely asked for non-smoking. There was only one light in the room. No table light, no clock, no phone. The TV was the size of a laptop monitor. I will never stay here again and will never recommend this place to anyone. It was a sty!. The rooms where too small, the bed was hard, it was too expensive for what they offer and valet parking was $22. Room was old, we were stuck in lift, floors creaked so we could hear upstairs. Our room was above a nightclub so there was the loudest of music, screaming, base till 4am! No sleep at all! Would not recommend this hotel. the hotel is old and rundown.it needs total makeover/renovation.the standard room is small and smells bad.everything looks old from lobby,to elevator,to rooms.the bed is hard.the pillows are so small,the size fit for .toddlers..the bathroom so small. Lazy staff, dirty rooms, not willing to resolve problems other than to say we are sorry and we look forward to helping you in the future. What on gods green earth would make you think I am willing to stay here again?.
