The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The linens were magnificent and the bath products were luxurious. Loved these products so much that I have purchased them thru the internet. all reviews » A cracking hotel with a great central location to the Galleria and local business district. I've stayed in all the other hotels locally and this is the best of the lot in my opinion. The gym is also great (with good TV's on cardio equipment). Parking is also plentiful and you can self park (becoming quite rare in Galleria Hotel area). I look to head back soon. The staff upgraded my room free of charge and they had everything I need.. I love it and I cant wait to book again.. The only thing I didnt like was we couldnt go swimming cause of the weather outside. But not the hotel fault.. the room was big enough for 3 people. It was very clean. the reception has a great decoration and its very big. we tough that JW Marriott will be better... but we were wrong. Royal Sonesta is better choice. Staff was courteous and house keeping did an excellent job. location was perfect and easy to find. Parking was easy although thee garage lanes are really tight, so make sure to really cautious. The staff went out of their way to speak and be friendly. This was everyone from walking down the hall and seeing housekeeping to the valet, along w/ concierge, dining staff and front desk. This gave me neck and shoulder pain. the bathroom is a bit old. You need to make some upgrades. the carpets on the corridors have a strange small... The television sets were outdated and in the mini fridge 3 out of 4 bottles of water had the safety seal broken. I know you can't help it, but getting in and out of the hotel was a nightmare because of the one way street and the traffic. My bathroom was stopped up-but I called down and I was moved and the problem was solved! It was as if it never happened!. As a foreigner the concierge desk could be more helpfull. Lots of this I can'T. Everything was good. No issues. The traffic at the hotel's location is always quite heavy and it can be difficult to leave the property, but that is beyond the hotel's control. I wish that we had a larger bath tub, and better water pressure. paying for parking. TV set need to be a flat screen TV. The rooms could have been nicer. The room should've had a flat screen tv in it. erratic email access in rooms. Parking and the location. Paying to park my car $16 for self park $27 for valet I think. Also hate it when you have to go down 4 levels in one elevator only to go back up 10 in another. parking was expensive 16$ for non valet. pool was not great (small). The pancakes appeared to be the frozen microwavable ones and the restaurant staff were pretty useless. They were kind, but only passed out drinks. Charge for everything especially parking. Please get another TV or better signal for the old old TV..it really takes away from the place. Initially the reception staff were not overly helpful but I guess someone was just having a bad day. The pool area was a bit sterile - not really somewhere you want to hang out but for someone who just wants to take a dip and get out it was fine. Again its more of a corporate atmosphere. The beds were double beds which when your used to a king size that was a bit squishy!. Sheets were not changed on my bed, room was straightened and beds made, however, sheets were not changed. A/c was not working properly and construction going on right now. Was put in a room by the elevator. Extremely noisy all night. Hotel was full and couldn't be moved. Very surprised that a room would share a wall with an elevator shaft without adequate sound proofing. The food. Construction, problems in rooms, lying by the staff about problems, lack of transparency. When booking a room, they try to put you in a lower grade room than what you reserved and paid for, then state that room selections are not guaranteed. When I arrived to check in I was informed that even with my reservations I would have to stay in a parlor room and sleep on a rollaway. When I told the front desk that I have reservations and that is unacceptable they told me if I didn't like it I could leave. I will never stay at a Royal Sonesta again. I am Contacting the ceo of Royal Sonesta to explain my experience as well as contacting all my business relations in forming them to not trust the Royal Sonesta.
