  The resort was close to a beach access. It had stockpiles of children's beach toys - buckets and spades etc. It had a pool and a sunbathing area overlooking a beautiful marina. It was about 200 yards from a Publix supermarket which was really first class. It was also close to a variety of other shops and entertainment venues over about a mile.   The Algiers is our favorite place to stay as a couple for a quick beach night. It is clean, well-appointed, and has a casual, laid-back feel. The people who stay there are respectful and quiet; we have never ever had a problem there. My husband thought it would be a dive hotel because we apid 119 + tax for a saturday night . bUT..WHEN We got there ..omg ,, wonderful .. the staff was great ...location was right on the beach ...grocery store acrossthe street , liquor/ restaurants . pERFECT . the restaurant on... what people say » location was great as well.. The prices for dinner , lunch , break fast was much cheaper than going off the hotel property. We will stay again for su - This hotel is much better in person than how it is reflected in the photos!! Several reviews have said this place is "retro" or out-dated which is not true at all. The lobby is just brightly colored as are the rooms - like the rest of St. Pete Beach - since the town has a coastal / art deco design. Honestly, this hotel really should be rated higher as it's great... Perfect beach access for a reasonable price, quiet and peaceful. I would stay again but next time longer!

When we arrived to our room after check-in, our toilet was running, so we called the front desk to have maintenance come to our room to fix it, and he came 5 mins later and fixed it right away!! :) Very impressive.
