There was a lot to like about this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and the building/rooms are well-designed. The rooms were about the same size as other Uruguayan hotels (I.E. small) but the lay- out was efficient and easy to get around. We loved the fact that they provided a bathroom space heater that allowed us to have warm towels. It is close to the ocean; we opened the window at night and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Another plus is that it is walking distance to everyth.
all reviews » It was an overall positive experience. It was low season in La Paloma, but the hotel seemed to have a brisk business. The staff was very attentive, room clean, bright and cheery, and the location is outstanding. Room is the best i ve found through uruguay and argentina,bed is huge and with great matress. Breakfast is ok, as staff. Great location right in front of the sea. I definetely recommend this hotel. Room was very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable and shower was fantastic. View was also very beautiful. Comfortable room, friendly staff, Very good location , close to beaches. The breakfast was exceptionally good. very nice situated near the Atlantic. Very helpful and riendly staff. Comfortable bedroom. The beaches were pleasant and varied. the room, the place itself. bed. The only thing we did not enjoy was the daily wrestle with the shower curtain. If they had a weighted curtain we would have no complaints. Everything was very good. If I had to make one recommendation, it would be that there be eggs on the breakfast buffet. It was by far the most expensive in uruguay, they should reduce prices a bit. Some staff were not very friendly and did not speak any language other than Spanish. The floor in our room hadn't been vacuumed or swept properly. beginning of december, hard to find a restaurant open for dining. Unreliable wifi in room. Gas smell inside the hotel. Wifi didn't work occasionally. The breakfast. The hotel staff were uninterested and unhelpful almost to the point of being rude. the pool was not really "ready to go", and the water cold! also the water to take a bath was cold [gas problems that very day]. They changed my room when they saw my letsbookhotel.com receipt/reservation...I was booked into a superior room...I was one of maybe four customers the cold winter(off season)afternoon I checked in...I asked for a room higher up so I could view thye beach...denied...I had a view of a dirty driveway/wall while thye other rooms lay empty. the hotel is new but it seems to need maintenance already: the WiFi didn't work in our room, the sauna is broken, the TV decoder was to be replaced and the swimming pool had mold stains on the walls. Having pointed out all these issues for a quite overpriced room in a low-season period, we were given a little discount on the original price.
