very friendly staff, lovely veiws from the room, great location. Good, comfortable, super breakfast.very kind staff and good service. good service, close to the creek, bit of traditional night life, ideal for business stay in Dubai. the staff were so friendly. i like the rooms, clean bath room, discoteques, staff. The location in down town Dubai. When I asked to be away from the disco on level 10 they were very understanding and gave me an upgrade on level 3.

The courtesy and helpfulness of staff, spacious rooms with big beds. Very convinient location. Tall building difficult to lose. The location was good for accessing the souks and the price, although inflated and expensive as all hotels in Duabai are, was the best for what I got.very convenient for Gold Souk or Creek crossing; room was large; lot of people gather to socialise.....;. Rooms are big enough for two person. The food was decent. Nothing really. the locaction. towels are dirty and yellowish, room are old and out of maintanence,cargage is dangerous looking --- underconstruction. The location. The problem of the water spilling from the shower to the floor, the cleaners do a good job, yet it is fault in many hotels in the area. The bath should be properly installed (horizontal) so as not to slope towards the floor. Arguably, this is not a big problem. Disco in 10th floor is sometimes loud - depending on the location of the room - bum, bum, bum till 3/4 am. the price of the internet. small lobby, less number of restaurants. The fact that it was booked out when I arrived two days earlier than planned and had to find another hotel which was so inferior for the same price that I could only recomend the Shangrila as so bad it will have a vacancy. The disco on level 10. Fortunately I was on level 3.There was no guest gift at the room. Especially fruites or soft drink. maybe some of the prise was too expensive if we are talking about 3 stars hotel. We stayed on 1st floor and still could hear the nite clubs on the 10th floor!. No taxi during day time but private car hire is available though expensive.smell of smoke in room (maybe no non-smoking rooms?) and towels/sheets clean but with dirty black marks on them... Exchange the money too slow or lack of the change or money. poor cleanliness in common areas (dirty tables etc), huge problems with wireless internet (not working in rooms), no facilities around the hotel, mediocre cuisine and breakfast. Music from the upper bars was loud during night. Finally, the general crowd found in the common areas could be characterised as "marginal", yet funny. No much nearby facilities. The staff were not so freindly. I had a problem with the wifi and when I called they told me to go downstairs. After going and finding that it works their they told to go up to my room and try again and call if the problem presists. So I called after finding the it still doesnot work.They said the engineer will come now but I waited more than half an hour and no one came. I am not at all picky, the hotel was fine for a one night layover in Dubai, but the hotel probably would not meet the comfort and/or cleanliness levels most Dubai travellers are looking for. Also, the disco is open until 3 and resonates throughout the hotel, I arrived at 2am, so by the time I got to bed the disco had just shut down. lot of people gather to socialise.....; some guests smoke everywhere; noisy top flloor; poor heating; no amenities.I was kept waiting for almost 3hours because my room was not ready. There is no facilities for coffee maker or tea or water.Russian prostitutes> See my letter to your customer service. There are oo many prostitutes around. Not good.the hotel not have enough taxies. I should say nothing I like except the location. Yes, no possibility to talk to management and nobody was present to make a decision, it was not clean, bath room pretty dirty, water flash of the WC did not work, smoking room offered instead of demanded non smoking, the windows so dirty that you could not look outside.
