Peacful location away from the city in an island with nature reserve that makes a perfect wellness sanctuary and but the mind in a relaxation mode. To get to the Island is easy either by driving and get to the jetty and then experience the boat trip or flying by Rotana Jet either from Abu Dhabi or Dubai. There are many activities that can be done in the resort such as, Safari, Mountain Biking, Archery, Snorkeling, Kayaking and Teens & Kids club. It is also worth mentioning enjoying the exot.
all reviews » Relaxed atmosphere, plenty of activities on offer on a daily basis, a lot to choose from be it relaxing in the spa or an early morning bicycle trek. Food was fantastic in each of the outlets, great variety and choice on offer. Definitely a weekend away where peace and quiet is the order of the day. Fabulous stay. The combination of activities with the highlight of the safari is just wonderful. The pool is great in particular for families, the beach nice. The resort is excellently managed and help offert were needed. Fantastic location and staff we had a 5 star holiday. A really unique location a very good choice for a short beak in winter. Hotel management were excellent in response to our rearranged stay. the hotel is nice, the thing impressed me was the staff; they are so friendly and always there to help, they try to make the stay better. i really loved it. I liked the the room design and the hotel in general. so comfort and good to clear the mind. the atomosphere is brilliant. The highlight of the trip was the Nature drive where we were amazed at the numbers and types of animals we observed. i like service its te best ...quik response ...delicious food ..for sure i will return back to this vabules hotel. It has good activities but expenssive. the restaurants should be better and provides quality food. the transportation in the island exclusive to the hotels so no chance to go far except mountain bike and safari car. no Grocery nearby. The website advertises stay 2 nights and get a 3rd free - at no point was I able to take advantage of this offer. nothing. Nothing at all, everything was perfect. The light from the a/c control panel was so bright that it kept us awake the first night. This needs to be looked at, as it does interrupt a relaxing night's sleep. Decline in the offering. Breakfast was poor not 5star standard. The lodge manager was rude to the point off offencive to staff even when I pointed out I was a guest and expect better from him. Food was poor and not value for money in the lodge either. The hotel stuff were very poor this time and even one maneger she was very very rude. More variety of activities, specially at night.. They could have desert campaigning in the wild.. Not many activities. Plus the activities there are alittle bet expensive. very very small swimming pool No interesting activities like quad-biking, jet-skiing, etc.. nothing. The restaurants are overpriced. To expensive . Limited vegetarian options in the restaurants. However the fishing activity that is offered by Water Sport Centre was kind of boring. My husband and I spent 3 hours on the boat and we caught just one fish. I believe that the staff can make it as nice fish trip, but they were not willing to do that. Food not good need to be improved. Price is okay but the extra bed for kids 360AED for one night is felt too expensive. Sometimes the staff looks so busy at reception. Plenty of activities but for each of them you have to pay on top of the room. The sand bags on the seaside are ugly and do create a bad impression. - No night activities - Location is too far from the city - the resort become too dark at night, no lights and you cant read the signs. - the sea is full of stones, but the sea of the resort next to it is very clear. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Kettle in room not working and had to be replaced twice. Shouldn't happen in this class of hotel. food options. The food in the Tapas Restaurant, nothing Spanish appart from Tapas. Food was not good that much and dosent worth it value. 1) The smell of the rooms. 2) the restaurants & room service food. No privacy in villa area. beach fronting hotel unable to enter water due to wave barriers. Activity costs a little expensive, bicycles require better maintenance. The sandbags just wreck the beach and the view. The activities were very overpriced. Would live to have done more. Lack of vegetarian options. Gave me a bill for a higher room rate than I had booked through your website. I was not impressed. Restaurant shut on last night with minimal warning. The hotel beach is not ideal for swimming. All the activities are over priced.room dine is was really bad.

Information about the area

Desert Islands Resort & Spa is located on the natural island of Sir Bani Yas. The island offers wildlife, archaeological sites dating back to the Stone Age, marine beauty and a unique desert island landscape. The area is perfect for game watching, fishing, diving and snorkelling, canoeing, kayaking or mountain biking.

The island's bird sanctuary has a variety of native and imported birds, including the flightless African ostrich, rhea and emu, along with the Egyptian goose, partridge, crane, guinea fowl and pheasant. Flocks of pink flamingos can be seen by the hundreds in the island's mangroves and lakes.

From there, guests seeking the utmost in luxury and quickest access to our island paradise can be whisked away direct to the island by private helicopter!

Alternatively, guests may wish to take land transport from Abu Dhabi to the port for a quick half-hour speedboat journey across the glittering waters of the Gulf to the island's marina, where they may be met by 4WD land cruiser to make their way to the resort. Or, guests may transfer directly to the resort's floating arrival pier and be transported to the lobby by golf cart to begin their Desert Islands Resort getaway.
