Excellent Service!! One of a kind! Me and boyfriend toook a taxi from dubai to Sandy beach, we we're lost on our way for 4 hours and Sandy Beach sent their staff with a personal car to pick us up on a place where we got stranded. I have requested for a sea view room and it was really lovely. It is worth the hassle that we've got of getting there. Staff are really friendly and very helpful. They made our stay one of the most excellent get away we ever had. Thank you. Daphne and Edward Roberts.
all reviews » I have been staying at Sandy Beach Hotel since 1984 and I keep coming back - and they keep improving it! I am a diver and it is ideally situated for diving on the best sites on the UAE East coast. The 2-bedroom chalets are a special favourite as you can cater for yourself and barbecue. This time I stayed in an upstairs hotel room and had a beautiful view of the beach and "Snoopy" Island. I've been a fun of this place since 90-s, when it used to be one upper class motel with unique location. Lots has changed since...for better. Love the place. The restaurant has improved big time for the past years. It used to be almost not-edable food before. Now it's very nice. Thanks. The location and dive centre are great. It's on the best spot on Al Aqah, right by snoopy island with an awesome stretch of beach. Some of the staff are really nice and should be commended on excellent customer service, though generally they're a dreary bunch. It is very maze , I like it too much , it is very romantic place , and every one who is looking for beauty beach and golden sand and waste wonderful time with husband or wife or even friends , he should be came and could see by himself. We had a wonderful stay there, this is the best location on the coast. The rooms are basic but clean and with beautiful views. The staff were friendly and efficient and the whole weekend was perfect. Busloads of day trippers shipped in to use the pool / beach for the day. The policy of checking in and out are not the best, especially considering that arriving by 3pm you have just 2 hrs left to rent a snorkling equippment and u have to pay twice for the late hrs that day plus the same next morning if you still wish to go snorkling.The hotel staff is trying to accommodate you at their best, still the general policy is not so kind as it could be. Sandy Beach is run down and over-priced when compared to the other resorts on al aqah beach and nearby. The restaurant is as terrible as it's always been, and could really use an overhaul from the chef and food quality, the staff training to general ambience. The restaurant and food options just suck. I didn't like the lack of basic amenities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving, vanity kits. The room AC was not great (old and the tonnage was lower than required to cool a room of that size). The breakfast area is cheap and crowded - fresh fruit would've been nice (seeing as its for sale at every roadside). No english language news tv channels (only russian and arabic news) which is odd seeing as english is the "second lanquage" of the uae. Beach/pool service would've been nice (they could sell alot more drinks that way). The service in the restaurants and bar was very slow and the menus had nothing for vegetarians. Alcohol is expensive, more so than many 5 star hotels in the UAE. Not so luxurious rooms and no so reach variety in breakfast gor a 4 stars rated hotel and resort.I would like to have a kitchenette too since i have a baby and i had to wash everything in the bathroom which was not so convenient!. Breakfast could have more variety. They charge 5* hotel rates. Nothing but only the ac get leaking water but normaly wather was too humedity .if there is sulution will be good. The snorkel hire, at AED 60 was a bit steep - this is for a whole day, which is also too long - most people will only reasonably be able to snorkel for a couple of hours. Please introduce an hourly rate!. I didn't have any problems. My stay at Sandy Beach Resort was great. I guess the only think I can complain about was that it takes about 35-40 min to get to Fujairah if you want to do some shopping, but that's one of the reasons I chose that location, because it was out of town. The hotel is somehow old-fashioned and the water of the swimming pool was not so clear. the facilities could do with some modernisation. The internet needs upgrading The TV was basic The beds were too hard!! The huge door key is unnecessary - needs up grading. Restaurant has very few selected main course. The food was not good and poor. You will not have time to evaluate .. I find my self in between the beach & the mountains. I didn't like the lack of stuff like the coffee mugs, blankets, and no welcoming coffee or tea. The room had wet smell... price of water and fizzy drinks pool/outside bar was closed by 8pm said it was fully booked but was very quiet. staff and service was a little slow at times - especially when busy. The activities you can do are limited to swimming, diving or riding kayak. Nothing. nothing. road access and construction near location. No internet sereve. barbeque is not awailable if you renting all except chalet. They have a notice in the room, that says "housemaids are not allowed to use the pool under any circumstance". I find this very derogatory. Are housemaids not human-beings? Besides, it is not as if they allow housemaids to stay for free in the hotel. Poor room quality, poor food, less intertainment facilities, poor valur for money. room a little tired and old for the price but not expecting much more!. Limited and expensive restaurant menu. The stay could be more comfortable. Rooms need to be more clean, and it should be renovated, the food is so poor. T. Dinner is expensive room not that much good as before. Room service was poor The necessary material were not avialble in the ready room. No activites mainly at night. Rooms are mouldy and very basic. the dated and style of rooms - industrial steel staircase in bedroom? - remove all the curtains and put wooden blinds - much more effective and convenient to use. Cleanliness. No Indian TV channels at all, inspite of Indians being the single largest nationality in UAE....very strange. Noisy birds in the resort, landscaping (as this is a good period for going to the beach, they should have done all the work needed before).
