The George is one of the reasons why I was keen to return for my second visit to Lviv. It has to be one of my favourite hotels. For a reasonable price it is a chance to stay in a hotel of architectural standing. I like the way thasat the hotel has been updated minimally (but enough for comfort) without detracting from its historical character. The pizza restaurant on the ground floor is exceptional. The man doing the transfer was cheerful and helpful as were all the staff. Breakfast is a decen.
all reviews » This hotel is located right in centre of Lviv city! Great location! Hotel is beautiful. Nice interior. The staff was very friendly. I got a cheap room, without bathroom or toilet inside, but room itself was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast has been included as well. It was served very well, with a great variety of dishes offered. For $40 usd I paid for myself and my son to stay at the hotel, it was a great value!!! I'm really satisfied with this hotel. Highly recommend!. George hotel is definitely the best ratio between price and quality for the economy rooms. The position is perfect, the staff is very friendly and professional (since i couldn't have breakfast because I checked out in the early morning, they prepared a packet lunch!!!). the soviet style of the rooms is moving!. As on my last visit, the only thing I didn't like was the over-the-top televison screen at breakfast - in my view an intrusive and unnecesary 21st century intrusion into the historical natüre of the hotel. The only disadvantage was that my room didn't include a toilet and a bathroom, however, once again, for just $40 a night, this is quite acceptable!. Sagging mattress needed to be replaced. There is no parking area around so when we one of the hotel boys suggested paying him for for taking care of the mini bus we agreed. It was the only disadvantage. The rooms of tourist class need a repair, as well as all the floor as a whole. Nothing of distinction - some of the decor in public areas (eg. breakfast room on 1st floor) are showing signs of age - but that lends to its character!. The water ran brown with sporadic pressure in the bathroom shower/tub the whole time we stayed. The Internet wifi was poor, particularly in the evening. We did not understand the pricing of the rooms - some which came up as economy were better than the superior. We did not like the budget rooms mainly because the beds and bedding weren't comfortable. Needed a kettle in the bedroom. Property is a little tired. They should provide spare pillows in the wardrobes - one pillow is not enough for many people. The only thing I didnt like was that there wasnt a bar in the hotel. A bit noisy in the morning in the corridors. dining room staff not friendly, no smiles or greetings when greeted; no coffee after 9am, except for cups poured in one at time; locks on doors very loud at night; our window view was horrible, not impressing for first time visitor. Nothing. Nothing. Facility is a bit tired. Could use paint and an upgrade. Breakfast still has room for improvement. Ecomon rooms are too soviet and old, very soviet beds. One day the chambermaid forgot to make up our room, perhaps because we had changed our room because we wanted a room with no street noise. need new matrasses. shared bathroom. noisy because of the street and breakfast is not tastefull. No have Conditioner in room. water pressure was not high. Well... No bathroom in the room?!!!!!. Sharing toilet and shower. confort, noisy in the roms and in the corridors.
