Very friendly and attentive couple who are eager to help in any way. Lovely period property, tastefully decorated. I stayed with our young son and found the hotel to be ideal in every respect. We stayed in an attic bedroom which was upgraded on arrival at no extra charge! Although the room was not large, such sensible use had been made of the space with carefully chosen furniture that we never felt cramped. It was positioned to the rear and had a very open outlook which contributed to the peace.

The dining room had an open fire, very welcome in December. Table beautifully presented with fresh roses. Large, tasty, grease free cooked breakfast with delicious fresh coffee and toast. Plenty cereals, fruits & yoghurt for those who wanted it. The car park is opposite the house at the end of a cul de sac, we have a lar. This hotel is run by very friendly and welcoming family it really feels like a second home. The location was perfect, especially after owner showed us shortcuts into city-center (5 min walk) and railroad station (about 10 min walk across a bridge). I was really surprised when they offered themselves to store our suitcases on the day we were leaving as our train was in the evening. We were a bit late for breakfast, but they cooked it again just for us. That was amazing. Great value for money. Ro. The location was excellent, right beside the centre, but quiet. Elizabeth and Spyros were lovely attentive friendly hosts who gave us a wonderful welcome. The room was charming, and very comfortable. The bathroom particularly was fantastic. It was great value for money, I just wish we could have stayed longer, a very relaxing home away from home. I like absolutely everything! There is ample parking at just £2 a day. All charges are clearly explained and published. The English breakfast is massive but of a good quality - you will not need lunch. There is free Wifi as well. Plus although very cold in York the room and water temperatures were brilliant!. The guest house was very friendly and helpful. Excellent location for a city trip. Room 7 has a good shower in it's en suite but the toilet would be a squeeze for those with a well built physique. no negatives here!. i would say the only thing i can think of was yhe parking and we had to park in another street but the host gave us a permit and tried everyday to get us closer ehich we evebtually did if we go again we are going on the train. No. The only thing was the en-suite has no heater, so when having a shower it was freezing. We had the room with the external bathroom . Not a big problem but obviously better to have a room with an en- suite . Nothing!. The bedroom and especially the bathroom were too small for my giant husband and son! We only stayed one night so it didn't matter so much. The toilet/shower room was a little cramped but it wasn't really a problem. Wasn't too keen on having to unlock the Bathroom on the Landing in the night, for fear of waking other Guests. Nothing. Parking was limited to 3 spots, so if late arriving you had to park elsewhere with a permit which meant dragging luggage. Bathroom was awkward layout to use comfortably. Nothing. N/a. Couldnt fault anything exept maybe breakfast is a little early on a sunday. Creaky house with noisy heating/water. Nothing. Nothing. n/a.
