The staff are great, (it's close to the river to feed the geese!), it has onsite secure parking (which is a massive bonus as we have kids and don't want to walk far with luggage) and it's close enough to the city centre to walk. The breakfast is fantastic, and the hotel is lovely and clean. We've stayed all over York, and we keep going back to the Queens. Our 5th or 6th visit to this hotal and yet again have been delighted with everything / the location / cleanlieness and overall ambience of this hotel. We always request a river view room and it is really worth the extra cost. Sure we will return. all reviews »
stayed at this hotel on six occation, at various times throughout the year and the hotel and service have always been excellent. this is the first hotel we look to book whenever we are returing to york. Central, but quiet location on quayside; friendly, courteous staff; nice food; would return and recommend Queen's hotel. Also, nothing to sort out when we arrived - all arranged through this website.the staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem. the location is very accessable to york town centre and the view from our window was picture perfect and the room was very comfortable. Hotel central location was very good, staff very helpfull and the room was very good value for the money, the room was on par with some 4* hotels we have stayed in, well worth the money.It was a very clean and tidy though basic room, very nice to come back to at the end of the day. The staff were very helpful and chatty and the free teabags were regularly refilled!. this is one of many times we have stayed at the queens hotel adn an excellent value for money hotel / location is superb / staff very friendly / a great choice for a stay in york. The view of the river was great and the large tv in the room was greatlyappreciated by the grandchildren. I should have liked a box of tissues in the rooom.Flooding of the carpark - though hardly the hotel's fault! Would not putme off staying again. Poor quality of cutlery in dining room at breakfast. The windows are quite large and the bottom of the window is only three feet from the floor. The windows are very unsafe for children as there are no protective barriers which would prevent a fall. Breakfast was invariably cold.If you arrived for breakfast at the 'right' time, it would be warm/hot - however the food was left under 'hot' lights that did not keep the food hot and merely enhanced it's looks. The food itself was of good quality. Just not hot! Environmental Health Officer would not be best pleased.foyer needs freshing up,well used. we had to take car to multi storey in the town which was a bit inconveinient no parking spaces at the hotel at the time.Chipped bath. just the no car parking faciltity. no dislikes but extra pillows in room to help people with breathing difficulties but no complaints. the only down side was having to pay to park the car and i thought the bathroom smelt of dampness (maybe the shower curtain).
