The buffet style breakfast which included full English was fabulous. The staff ,the room, all made it an enjoyable stay.Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Proximity to York centre. All the facilities. Hotel location was excellent and a short walk to the city centre. Romms were very cosy and comfortable. The room we stayed in was excellent and well catered for. The self-service breakfast was excellent.

The hotel staff were excellent,very polite and helpful.Our room was on the top floor and was very spacious.Very centrall too not far to walk to be in the middle of all shops.Would definately stay there again.We were happy with the fact that we could park as we did not have toworry about the car or parking costs. I liked bedroom design giving space, tea an dcoffee making facility and warm temperature.nice hotel staff were very nice room was good but heating was a bit poor in room. To relax and have a drink in the lounge on the nice comfy seats. very helpful reception staff. I left a package in a taxi phoned the hotel who contacted the driver who drove back to the station. Location - close to the city centre and the main attractions, friendly and helpful hotel staff, plenty of choice at breakfast. we were not pestered by housekeeping staff at all, over three nights,so could have a nice lie in each morning. The breakfast was excellent and the room most unusual as it contained a metal spiral staircase!. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, great location, great breakfast and lovely court yard. The hotel was ideally located for the city centre. We liked the location, our room, being able to park in the hotel grounds and the open style of the hotel which is in keeping with the town area.The central location to the town center with it's night life was very handy as walking distance so no taxi was required. The hotel was good, it had an ideal location to the facilities we needed. Breakfast was excellent.Friendly hotel, have stayed previously, always made welcome. Staff were generally friendly and efficient. Free parking!!. good location for exploring York-pleasant spacious public areas. Convienient for walking to most places of interest in York. Unfortunately, the noise fromt he traffic outside made sleeping difficult-only extremely good glazing will ease that problem.No its fine. The floor boards are very creeky, that was the only down fall.I was a bit dissapointed that we were in the annex as I felt a bit outoff what was going on at the hotel. The shower in bathroom not the best.Difficult to follow directions to the hotel (by car). Limited parking facilities and staff move your vehicle when necessary. Ours seems to have picked up a large scratch.My mum had to request toast with her breakfast twice! sorry thats the only thing I could think of. We were on top floor and bedroom was very hot under roof. The shower was running cold in my room although the other two rooms we booked had hot water. we were in a room in the roof and this meant a lot of stairs. The room was large but there was no shower just a shower mixer tap. room cold - although it was -6 c outside!. No tissues in the room. our room had a bathroom up a spiral staircase in the bedroom. This was not an ideal arrangement. The breakfast arrangements were chaotic on the Sunday morning. There was a lack of overall supervision and seemed to be no system for responding to the sequence of need ie toast, tea/coffe and hot food in sufficient numbers. There was not enough food out in the hot buffet breakfast at any one time and it was not kept warm, let alone hot. There was only cereal as an alternative.We were given a disabled persons room. We were not informed about this beforehand. eg. the wash basin was for me , at thigh level. The shower was stone cold and the room was also very cold. My husband would like to see fried bread back on breakfast menu, however I expect thats down to a healthier eating option on part of hotel more than removing fried bread for choice.Car Pak space. service at breakfast was slow; we waited a long time for tea/coffee despite reminders. The position of the room. I would suggest that you warn potential clients before they make areservation that wedding receptions etc may be held at the hotel andthis could mean noise up until 12 midnight. The bedroom was beginning to look a little tired! pardon the pun. poor shower outside stairs to room-no lift. Found the mattresses rather hard and lumpy in our twin room.
