Steve and Vicky are very hospitable owners and personaly very nice people. One can feel they put their hert into this their work. They helped us a lot long before our travel by answering our questions (best choice of the Lakes tour, walking paths, arrival to WIndermere etc.). Steve kindly picked us up at the rail station upon arrival and transferred when departing. One can clearly see that they do their best for their gue. all reviews »
Ideally located between Bowness and Windermere. 10-15 minutes stroll either way. Steve and Vicky are the friendliest B n B people that we have met (stayed in over 12 other B n Bs). Invergarry is such a welcoming place. The bed was really comfortable. We stayed in a small double but this was a reasonable size for a couple of nights and didn't feel small. Breakfast was delicious - homemade muesli, jam and marmalade. Best breakfast that we have had in a B N B. Really lovely touches in the rooms - .
Steve and Victoria were so cool, both of them provided us great service! Steve even collected us from station and also sent us to station when we left. My mom and I felt really well when we stayed in Lake District. Hosts also provided rich breakfast and the host (Steve) also gave his guests a lot of advices about trips in Lake District. Really helpful! Honestly, they treated us like friends not like guests and hosts, which is really impressive! By the way, the bus station is perfectly closed fr.
We were in the garden suite as me and my mum needed a twin room. The room was nicely decorated, and lovely and clean with pine furniture. We had our own private conservatory/ sitting/dining area where we had breakfast every day and was nice to sit in of an evening before going to bed.
Vicki and Steve were lovely and friendly hosts. Nothing was too much for them.

We had a wonderful stay. Invergarry was the perfect base to explore the lakes district, and Steve and Vicky were wonderful hosts. We were pleasantly surprised to have a generous slice of home made toffee cake on arrival and the home made jams and spreads with the huge cooked full cumbrian breakfast were all delicious. The whole place was impeccably clean to, and the room was a great size with lovely views over the surrounding neighborhood. We hope to stay again soon!.
This is the best guest house i have ever stayed in. Victoria and Steve are so friendly and full of great advice for places to visit. They look after you so well and even bring you a slice of homemade cake every day. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in Windermere. As an Englishmen about to emigrate to Australia I would happily invite the couple in to my home if they were to ever visit Australia and need somewhere to stay that's how nice they are.

This was an ideal place to stay for us. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Fantastic homemade cakes and biscuits and great breakfasts. Hassle-free parking right outside the guest house and only a short walk to restaurants and the wharf to catch a cruise on Lake Windermere. The scenery in the Lake District was breathtaking.

Information about the area
Invergarry is situated just off Lake Road, 10 minutes’ walk from Windermere and 10 minutes’ walk from Bowness and Lake Windermere, where the steamers offer trips round the lake. The great location makes the guest house a good base from which to explore the lakes and fells of the Lake District National Park. There is plenty to see and do nearby, including steam railways, museums, the Beatrix Potter attraction, the story of Donald Campbell and much more.
Invergarry is about 15 minutes’ walk from Windermere Railway Station and there is also a bus stop directly outside the guest house. During the summer months, the open-top Lakes Rider bus service picks up from this stop on its way to Ambleside and Grasmere. There are connecting bus services at Windermere to Keswick, Kendal and Lancaster.
There are some great walks right outside the guest house’s front door and the Invergarry offers its own local walk books, which will take you to some fabulous viewpoints, one of which is Orrest Head. This is the walk that inspired Alfred Wainwright to compile his well-known guides. On a clear day, you can see almost the full length of Lake Windermere, as well as the distant Fells. The walks range from 2 miles (3.2 km) to 6 miles (10 km).
