We found this delightful place very near to the village center. The owner and her daughter were extremely polite, caring and helpful, on our arrival they had provided us with loads of guides and plenty of info for our hiking trip across and around the lakes. And breakfast every morning was something to look forward to at this place, most attentive indeed. We highly recommend anyone to try them. P.S. Loved the 'honesty box/drawer', where you were asked to leave 50 pence for any mineral water bot.
all reviews » We had room 3 with the 4 poster bed, it was soooooo comfortable! Diane the b&b owner was very hospitable, she tailored our stay to meet our needs, my friend left her electric cigarette charger at home so Diane let us use her personal computer to charge it. Also, when we got there Diane had left leaflets and a map on our bed, this helped so much during our stay. The breakfast was nice and the location is perfect, a 5 minute walk in to the village of windemere and a 20 minute walk to bowness . A lovely guest house in a quiet location. Very friendly and welcoming. The room was good, plenty of tea/coffee making facilities as well as toiletries in the bathroom. Bed was really comfortable. Great breakfast served next morning so overall we were very pleased indeed with our choice for an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend and stay again. The central heating was on all the time, it's not a big deal as a lot of people probably like that but for us, it was a little too warm, but nothing an open window can't solve!. Nothing. Servicing of rooms is an optional extra to be requested. While I don't mind this idea as I often prefer my room not to be disturbed when on shorter stays, I think consumables such as tea, coffee, toilet papers, etc, should be re supplied each day without having to ask for them. Saying that though its not unbearable, it didnt ruin the trip away, we just wish it had been abit softer. The beds were too soft. Nothing. Nothing.
