Value for money, friendly on arrival served with coffee and an excellent breakfast in the morning. Nice and clean, and would stay again. We had spectacle views of Weymouth Bay and also at night with the laser lights show on the sea. This hotel is right on the sea front, just a walk across the road to the promenade and beach, and a five minute walk to the shop, what more could you ask for, absolutely fabulous.
all reviews » We liked that we were right on the beach front close to everything but just far enough away from the noise. Hosts very friendly.Dont be put off by the fact that the car park is round the corner ( 5 mins walk)unless you have trouble with your legs. You can park the car outside to unload your cases. The Channel Guest House was near to all the shops and bars and far enough away not to be disturbed by late night revellers leaving the clubs and bars. Food was excellent and the rooms was very good and nothing was to much effort for the staff i would highly recommend this establishment. Very helpful staff from directions to locations to booking wheelchair when requested prior to arrival.very good breakfast,comfortable room and bed,very clean everywhere.ideal location right on the beach and promenade.we felt we had struck very lucky choosing the channel guest house. Very welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble. The room was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom. Nice to have a shower with some power. A good choice at breakfast time, continental or full English. I will certainly use this guest house again in the future, excellent. Situated on the Esplanade, very close to the beach, shops, harbour, parking place. The only thing I didn't like was the 'early morning call' from the road sweeper. This was a minor irritation though and certainly not under the guest house control. Obvious problems with parking but we managed to overcome those. A little more attention to a thorough cleaning of the shower cubicle (in particular, the sliding doors) would be adviseable. N/A. When having breakfast it was rather warm. Save some money and turn it down a notch !. Nothing. Not wheelchair friendly although that didn't bother me. I enjoyed climbing to the fourth floor and liked the view from the window and the feeling of privacy up there. The room was very hot and the window did not open very wide due to a stopper having been put on it. The heat of the water in the shower was not very controllable. Possibly only downside was stairs to room but in no way is that anyone's fault. The guest house is a Georgian listed building so cannot be changed. Nor would you want it to and it's clearly pointed out in advertising. Plus staff were more than willing to take case up and downstairs.the view is well worth the stairs! No other downsides at all. No problems at all. it was a bit hot, could have turned the heat down a bit in the corridors. Noise from late night drinkers but not fault of the B&B. Owner a little stilted in welcome & conversation. Window would only open a little & rooms stuffy. Shower had no instructions & was either hot or cold. Very slow to get checked in to the room took over 30 mins to do 2 minute job and no parking - be warned all the parking is using a parking permit which the hotel has but there is only 4-6 space outside and they are always full and it is a half mile walk to the the nearest car park!!!!! There is limited parking around the back but always full, so be prepared to walk a long way and leave your car in a vulnerable spot over night!!!!!!. Breakfast table on the cramped side - however this was due to the hotel's popularity; all tables were utilised!. Parking could have been difficult. Luckily with a disabled sticker things were fine. Difficulty getting out of the parking space in the morning as a tour bus was parked behind the car and was 20 minutes late leaving!. nothing. The shower needs some attention!. Shower was temperamental and could hear other residents easily through the walls. Bed would benefit from a better quality mattress. A little tired and parking was troublesome. However, for our purposes of an overnight stay with great location it was perfect. Room a bit tired noise from water going down pipes all basics ok but could do with upgrade. the 39 steps to the room ha ha. There was nothing we didn't like. Would have preferred carpark to be abit nearer. The bed was a bit hard and the central heating was on, although didn't expect the good weather which didn't help. nothing!. Everything was fine!. N/A. the room was very small but it had a bigger bathroom. the bed wasn't very comfortable. the doors always slammed shut because they were broken. the breakfast wasn't that nice. parking only available in public car park 5 mins walk from hotel next to retail park. manager appeared stand-offish, but friendly. there was nothing we didn't like. Distant car park - not suitable for mature clients. Nothing to enter here.
