  Friendly cosy hotel, quirky & made a pleasant chance to stay in somewhere different & unique unlike the usual chain hotels. Staff were friendly & attentive. Food was good both in taste & value. Room large & comfortable. Was concerned about the potential of traffic noise as it it right on a busy sectionof the A1, but hotel is se... what people say » t back from the road, well soundproofed & I was not disturbed by any traffic noise. - The rooms where well equiped, warm and tastefully decorated. Free WiFi is a bonus with excellent reception within the room and the pub. The pub is a very relaxing retreat after a day on the road with friendly staff, excellent food and atmosphere........all in all excellent value for money.

  Enjoyed afternoon tea and relaxed. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was also fantastic an excellent time had by both of us. - Really lovely hotel. We stayed for a friends wedding that was held at the hotel. Would highly recommend. At £60 it is a stonking bargain!
