The smallest d... what people say » etails in my view where thought of its like the owners have stayed in hotels and said we can put the industry right by being basic and TRUE to ourselv - I have stayed at the Old Royd for many years when travelling to Alton Towers and I have never had a bad word to say. They get better infact, every year. Very pleasant and comfortable and within easy reach of all pubs, restaurants, tesco and attractions like Alton Towers. Great value for money and they cater for larger families as well as groups of friends which can sometimes be difficult to get a room for. Breakfasts were also good, very obliging of different tastes etc. Going back in a weeks time.

  I actually paid for this for my son and girlfriend to stay as they were going to alton towers. As it was his 21st birthday Jan upgraded his room. They both thoroughly enjoyed their stay and thought the hosts were excellent.   The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially when I asked if I could leave my car at the hotel well before I was due to check in as I had to attend a christening which fell at check in time. the room was larger than expected for myself and two children, in fact it was just as the tv advert depicts! we expected to see lenny henry when ... what people say » we walked in! Thanks - The young lady on Reception was very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much effort for her. It was very pleasant to chat to her. Similarly the restaurant team were very good - enjoyed an evening meal at Table-table as well as breakfast. Bed was comfortable - the location quiet.
