I stayed in the attic room, which was very quaint and had a ton of character, I absolutely loved the room. The location of this hotel is perfect for relaxing or hiking, it is located right near the water with amazing views. It also has a bar and restaurant on site which allows you to sit, relax, eat and drink (with a good selection of cocktails, whiskey, and local brews. The staff was very nice.
all reviews » The new owners were friendly and trying hard to make all the guests happy; this included 'a wee dram' of whisky on arrival and a bottle of sparkly when our table for dinner was not ready on time. Very approachable staff; fabulous environs, warm, clean and romantic buildings and gardens. Loved the sense of history; staying in Flora McDonald's house. Our room was very comfortable and clean and well set out. The meals were excellent. Lots of local seafood. Staff including hosts were all very friendly and helpful. The owners plans for modernizing sound great and we wish them well in this..maybe we can return some day.... Very nice hotel with a friendly atmosphere . Personal is very supportive. Restaurant is of very high quality. we lived in the cottage-separate building which was just phantastic. very good design of the room - we felt like royal guest. We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage the room cosy and comfortable (a twin attic room) and the views are stunning what really made our stay was kevin and hector who were very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome they we. The breathtaking location and scenery; the sense of staying at a 'country house' with creaky staircases and four poster beds; the connection to Scottish history with the Flora MacDonald cottage; the new owners wonderful doggies. We stayed in the smallest room in the hotel, in the cottage, which was very cosy. A few issues were immmediately taken care of by the very friendly and helpful hosts. The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning!. The setting in which the inn is located is in itself worth the journey, but that, combined with the graciousness and warmth of the staff and the quality of the food make the inn a highlight of our trip. We stayed in the main building with breathtaking views to the mainland. It was beautifully appointed. Food was first class. I liked that this place was not really in a town, so it was very picturesque. Friendly staff. A good breakfast. OMG, the location had amazing views of the Quiraing area and the ocean. Bedroom was comfortable enough although quite basic for the money paid. location and the bar with resident singer. The shower in the attic room was a bit tough to use, overall I enjoyed it as an old time experience for just the few days I was there; however if I went again I would try for a regular shower in my room. The weather! Availability of hot water for showers was a bit sporadic, especially if it was a wet day and many people had come in and showered in the same time frame. Needs better boilers or separate ones for each room. Nothing. The only problem was that the heating went off for the final night of our stay and therefore no hot water in the morning. Although we were offered the use of another room before we left. That we could not stay longer. There is nothing I didn't like about the inn. No yoghurt at breakfast and fruit salad had run out. Service in restaurant was a little slow. Especially breakfast. Parking was a little challenging from time to time. We had two rooms, one of them was a twin attic room... which we were aware that we had booked and so were expecting it, however the shower was hand held, small, and difficult to shower in. We got lost trying to find it, but this was because they had one sign on the road facing only 1 direction. Need to have more signs up to find the hotel. Waiter service was well meaning but badly trained. One day's proper training would make all the difference. Bar menu was limited restaurant menu was pricey. Bedroom a little small No bath. No downstairs toilets in main house. No indoor access between main house and bar/toilet area. Bad for disabled guests. the room with two single beds - something got lost in the process as we requested a room with a double bed. Affascinante ma eccessivo il costo. The place different with Zipcord, so a little bit different to find. Not too many vegetarian options in the menu. disappointed in the evening menu. No eggs ..at breakfast..and message put over very matter of fact with no apology! Staff a bit odd and Feeling of disorganisation,lack of management. Reception was poor food only average despite high prices Staff were very helpful and friendly in difficult circumstances of potential sale of hotel during our stay. I did not enjoy my stay there, clearly a very unhappy staff team, having to work long hours. Very unprofessional service. Door in toilet would not close, no toilet roll holder, no shelve for putting soap/ shampoo etc in the shower, all my toilettries had to be put on the floor. I had visited the hotel under the previous management, who were very warm, friendly and professional in their manner and effeciency with guests. Under this management I would not go back, not value for money at all. poor quality service at dinning time. very little knowledge about wine and very poorly trained foreign servers but extremely polite. prices of food is very high for poorly produced restaurant menu. Room space was too small including bathroom. Price was too high for the comfort and service provided.
