  The hotel staff was ever so helpful and kind, the decoration in black and white is very charming, the wireless internet works very well and breakfast is excellent with the serving of hot English breakfast, fresh cheese and ham and yogurt. - Free mini bar and coffee / tea making facilities.   Well appointed rooms every thing you would need. Plenty of tea coffee etc. Breakfast was fab good selection of cereal fresh fruit even mince pies and bottled water. Followed by full English and any amount of toast.location was spot on a nice 15 minute walk along the river to the center of York. Earlier that day he kindly gave my friend who had travelled by car a lift into town. Lovely spacious, comfortable room and well supplied with toiletries. Good breakfast, freshly cooked to order.

  Upon arrival, we were met at the door by the owner Graham, after the initial hellos and what have you, we were taken up to our room. It was lovely, smelt nice and fresh and was very clean. Our bathroom was situated just across the hall from us, and we found it very nice and spacious. Lovely soft towels, and little extras. We were treated to a history lesson as well as an extremely wonderful stay at the guesthouse.   Everything: the staff were very welcoming and so helpful: nothing was too much bother. The look of the hostel was more like that of a hotel than the stigma usually attached to hostels. The cooked breakfast was lovely, especially for the low price we paid for it. Also, the rooms were very well set out and in a very clean and tidy condition. Could n... what people say » ot recommend this hostel any more highly: me and my group had a brilliant weekend with you and would definitely stay with you again if we visit York : - Our first experience of a hostel ever & we have nothing but positive comments to give!! This is a hotel without the extras (I.e doesnt have a hairdryer/towels & a tv on the wall), other than that it does exactly what it says on the tin!! Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent value for money all round!!) Would definitely stay here again!

The reception staff were very helpful in providing a suitable room for my wife who was recovering from surgery, providing additional pillows to make her stay more comfortable . We were - The entire stay was perfect. The location was ideal for our needs and the staff were superb. The adjoining Beefeater Restaurant was similarly excellent with their staff being friendly and bubbly. Particular staff members to praise are Andrew & Cheri - they were brilliant.

  Bed and bedding very clean and comfortable. Hosts were friendly and kind and left us alone to do our own socialising. Nearness of Park and Ride(which we found by accident) to save driving into York - Dave was a very welcoming host and made sure we were comfortable.   I have been taking my mother away once a year for the last 5years and we usually stay at Premier Inn Brighton, from our first visit we were made to feel welcome and the rooms and service were of a high standard and the staff very friendly. This was our first time at York North and we found the same high standards of sevice and the friendlness of ... what people say » the staff was just as excellent. The room was suitable for disabled people, which was great as I tend to forget my mother is 78 and i had not request - Good price, clean and comfy rooms, helpful staff, free hotel parking and very quite location - despite being near a park and ride bus-stop for in and out of York. (If you wanted to taxi ride it was less than £8.) There is a gastro pub within yards of the Premier Inn (The Dormouse) - it looked nice but we had already booked for dinner in York. Breakfasts at Premiere Inn were fine.
