Excellent facilities, fantastic room and friendly helpful staff - cannot wait to go back. Everything,except that tv could be bigger and programms selection wider. the staff were ecellent, they were always willing to help. close to the old town plus helpful staff. Sea view from hotel, comfy bed, easy walk to beach and town, tasty breakfast. Very close to the town and beach. It was quiet and friendly.

The Melbourne-Ardenlea Hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the beach in one direction or 5 minutes to the old town in the other direction. The hotel was typical of the Isle of white and had recently undergone modernisation. We enjoyed our stay and found the heated indoor pool a great place to relax at the end of the day.Loved having the swimming pool and Jacuzzi, was nice to come back for a warm swim after a days walking in the cold :-). The staff were polite and the English breakfast good . They knew a fair bit about the Island .A very pleasant atmosphere, with friendly staff. It felt more like a community than a hotel. Breakfast was good and the breakfast room nicely laid out and very pleasant.Staff had a good manner and were pleasant. Verr nice.Good location, large room with sea view even though I made a last minutebooking. The breakfast was very good, great food and plenty of staff sono waiting around. There was also entertainment one one evening of a 2day stay which was unexpected. the room was clean, the bathroom was a good size with a lovely hot shower. We had a small groundfloor room without a view - but we booked at the last minute.A little old and tired. One of the restaurant staff was left in charge alone and locked the keys to the facilities/pool in one of the bedrooms so the pool was unavailable one of our two day stay as she was unable to retrieve the keys and also was alone when we checked out and was unable to take payment in any form accept cash as didn't know how to (staff could do with training or not being put upon!).Price was a bit expensive for a 2 star. Did not have a choice of were to sit at breakfast. Price was not economical compared with the comforts and facilities available. Dated interior. Temperature of room far far far too hot and no shower or even showerhead you plug onto taps. I thought places in Spain had cornered the market in cheap toilet paper but this hotel beat them to it.Plus the whole hotel could do with a revamp,it is a bit outdated and dark. Couldn't find guest reviews on your website so can't comment.Would I recommend the hotel.....let's say that I would not put anybody off it ....it's O.K. but overall could be more up todate and better value for money. Restaurant food very poor, extremely dated decor through out, parkingextremely tight for number of cars, tv 2 out of 4 channels working firstnight asked to have it fixed for 2nd night and not done had to moverooms in end. Bath only in many rooms.the look of it and the menu. The staff were not friendly. And in fact moaned when we asked for wheel chair access. We were told that they did have a ramp but had removed. But if we insisted they would put it back. This made my mother feel very uncomfortable for needing wheel chair access. I was travelling with 2 registered disabled persons. which is not unusual but they have never before been made to feel like a burden.
