Staff were without exception polite, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful Rooms spacious and comfortable, Nespresso coffee nice touch Perfect setting and convenient for getting anywhere on the Island either by car or bus Hotel made first trip to Guernsey relaxing and very enjoyable. Great staff, the facilities were fantastic - lovely spa facilities, good pool, golf course, beautiful grounds, good sized rooms. The hotel is very welcoming and has everything you could need, in a great location. We'll be back next time!!.
all reviews » The hotel has just been refurbished and is full of little extras such as Elamis products in the bathrooms and a Nespresso coffee maker. The staff are friendly and nothing is a problem and the feel of the hotel is relaxed but luxurious. Pool was great; nice big bed; lovely gardens; service excellent; staff really lovely; good choice and very tasty breakfast; rooms good size and very comfortable. Love this hotel and always stay there when we go to Guernsey. Mature couple - mother and grown up daughter but no category above. Very pleasant bedroom overlooking the tennis courts. Lovely spacious bathroom with plenty of room for your bits and pieces. Very pleasant staff. very clean bedrooms,staff very helpful food very good nice countryside views pleasent all round,enjoyed our stay here. would stay here again. Good standard hotel, actually a little nicer than I had expected from the photos. Pool and fitness centre good, nice setting/garden. Spacious hotel + grounds, quietly efficient staff, friendly reception on arrival. Facial in the Spa was very relaxing. The staff were lovely - it was peaceful and restful but with plenty to do and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. the bed was too hard for us and when I mentioned it we came back to find a mattress topper had been put on. Grounds were well maintained, lots of acitivites on offer. Spacious rooms and an excellent health suite. Location. Just around a mile from "Town", any closer and noise and traffic would spoil the place. Excellent, well-trained staff. Comfortable room. Great location for exploring Guernsey. Didn't like this form Travelled with my elderly mother Not offered as a choice. What's not to like ?. Children in the jacuzzi - after we had been in there for about 10 minutes a member of staff told them they shouldn't be there. When we were in the steam room they continuously knocked or opened the door and generally made a nuisance of themselves while mum spent a quiet time in the relaxation room. When we then went to the relaxation room the children came in shortly after so all peace gone and we then decided that our bedroom was somewhat quieter. no air-con in bedrooms, to many outside functions using the hotel i.e business meeting etc etc at the time we stayed at least 4 evenings out of 2 weeks.got quiet noisy at time. however we did not allow that to spoil our holiday and the staff done well to contain it. I was disappointed our balcony was so small - we did have a garden view as promised, but the balcony could only just fit one chair, so not much use... I also thought it was a little expensive (10 pounds for a glass of wine!!), but that's Britain I guess... Confusion over name of Victor Hugo, not Renoir restaurant, misleading opening times re The Pavilion. Signage throughout complex was not very clear; suggest larger black print on white background. More light at entrance of car park at night. Victor Hugo: ;No jug of iced water available on request; told jug was too heavy to leave - smaller table jug?. Our rooms overlooked the car park so sitting on the balcony wasn't very private. the generator was incredibly noisy and disturbed all of us but particularly my son in room 251 just above the generator!!. We stayed for a long weekend. There were a number of weddings and dinner-dances on the Friday and Saturday nights so it was a bit noisy. We were notified by the hotel that music would stop at 00:45 and to be fair it did. Nothing. Only the noise form the wedding on the Sat night. The Toilet not working properly. being woken up at 4.30 in the morning by the hotels boiler starting up.Could not get back to sleep. Would not stay in that room again. Position not good as had to catch taxi in to St Peter Port costing £8.00 each way,. The evening meal in the restaurant was disappointing. Failure to ask for our credit card details, resulting in an embarrassing letter following our charging additional meals to our card. Business facilities. Internet connection. Temporarily difficult to get through with road works. Longer walk than expected to town centre. The pillows on the bed were awful. Hard. Woke up with some neck pains. noisy road. Nothing. once I logged onto Wi-Fi at hotel everytime I tried to use me tablet the programme was constently being over ridden by the hotels own web site which was very annoying. No minibar or water in room. A very hard bed, suitable for cistercian monk. Staff do not seem to appreciate that the "do not disturb" sign means exactly that. My mattress could have done with being replaced, it dipped in the middle and possibly had some broken spring. The quality of the spa area could be invested in, the steam room in the ladies area is unappealing. Also the changing facilities in the ladies area were old, the shower is small and uninviting. The Golf Course is terrible and is much need of of some green keeping. Fairways are seriously a joke!. - People staying in the suites were very noisy and favoured - No air conditioning. General down at heal feel. Bed very soft, no mini bar, no sky, no robes. Restaurant closed after afternoon party when there were 20+ people still there and we were asked to leave. Outside paving slabs all loose and dangerous and have been like it for years!!!. Service was very poor, for a four star hotel it was a massive let down. Firstly they got my room wrong which did not set us in good stead, didn't inform me or my friend of what facilities they had and were not very helpful. The only aspect of the trip I enjoyed was leaving.
