Everything! The hotel was amazing in every aspect. Very sophistacated,contemporary and upscale. Very similiar to a NewYork City USA boutique hotel. The staff was friendly and accomodating to your every need. The hotel has only 7 rooms and you enter thorough the restaurant to a "liffy" that takes you up to the hotel. There is a restaurant and piano bar in the actual hotel as well.I was travelling n.
all reviews » We travelled from Ridley Park in usa and and after a full day ofvisiting nearby Giant's Causeway, Bushmills and the Rope Bridge, we werevery delighted with our room's size, comfort and decor. The view of theocean and was awesome. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant.The view from the breakfast room was great. The hot breakfast wasdelightful. Kathy at front desk was a+.We stayed in one of the suites which was very well appointed with a balcony with fantastic sea views. Overall we enjoyed the comfort, pleasant staff and the excellent restaurant (The Piano Bar Restaurant). The refurbishment of the hotel has a fine finish and quality to it. The standard of the whole hotel was superb in the week I stayed there My wife and I had stayed in London and Plymouth anbd The York was by far ! the best hotel we stayed in. The Staff were great and the food in the hotel resturant was superb and great value for money. Everything about this hotel is excellent. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The room facilities are top rate and the food is very good. The residents bar is also very appealing for a late night drink. We thought it was peaceful, although lively enough to enjoy music etc at the appropriate time. Food in the restaurant was excellent and well priced, all in all a very enjoyable break. We will be back.The hotel reception, piano bar/restaurant and rooms have (recently?) been renovated and are very impressive. The rooms in particular are comfortable and very well furnished. We were not told about any parties, and they didn't offer a discount for the sleep we didn't get.bathroom fan stayed on unless you took out your door pass. only complaint was room v warm although there was air con.there is nothing whatsoever to complain about and i would make a point of staying here again. Only minor point was that the room service breakfast / coffee was a little cold.Ground floor bar restaurant which was packed all afternoon and evening with diners and primarilly catered for families with children. Just a personal thing ,other guests may view this as a plus. Can be overcome easily by booking a table in the piano bar, which appeared to be adults only. Book in advance though because it's very popular. I would separate the two balconies in the front with some kind of barrier, like hedges or decorative plants. Sitting on the balcony was very nice but a couple was also on their balcony next to me and I didn't feel any privacy.Our room was above the restaurant and a band started playing at 10pm. Wedding party with very loud music until 12.30a.m. one night. Night porter scrapping chairs and tables around after for a long time.We ate at the York restaurant, the food was good although a little expensive, but it was very busy, normal for a weekend we were told. The noise level was high and the staff rushed off their feet. If visiting again would go for the more expensive bistro. The food was not great.The eveing dinning room was a bit shabby compared to were breakfast was served.The cooked breakfast was inedible except for the egg and bacon.The noise from an adjoining room from their television also kept us awake until after midnight.In the morning we were woken with the 'clip-clop' of someone wearing high heels at reception.Not really, but if I wanted to be super-critical I would mention that the wine waiter had not been properly trained in how to serve wine/drinks. The wine was simply set on the table and he left!! Not a huge problem. Cooked breakfast was not great - 'Ulster Fry' including what seemed to be deep fried bread!.

The York is noted for its superb cuisine, excellent wine and warm welcome. Enjoy a relaxed, informal meal in The York Restaurant or fine-dining in the intimate Piano bar-restaurant. Breakfast is served from 08:00 to 10:00. Lunch is served from 12:00 to 14:30, and dinner is served from 16:45 to 20:30 on Sunday and Monday; until 21:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and until 21:30 on Friday and Saturday.
