Located on Padstow’s busy harbour front, the 4-star Metropole boasts views of the town and Camel Estuary. There is a popular restaurant as well as bright, individually styled rooms. With a TV, work area and a private bathroom, many of the rooms also enjoy views across the water. Free tea and coffee, a hairdryer and ironing facilities are also included. The Metropole’s restaurant looks over the harbour and uses Cornish produce to create a daily menu. Guests can enjoy afternoon cream teas, and the Met Café Bar provides light food. The restaurants of Padstow harbour, including those of famous chef Rick Stein, are within just a few minutes’ walk. A seasonal outdoor pool is open during July and August, whilst the hotel also has pretty landscaped gardens for guests to relax in.

We paid £85 for a double room and breakfast which seemed very reasonable and for this price we were more than happy to be offered an inland facing room. We were very pleased to be given a beautiful room with fabulous estuary views. Very clean, gorgeously furnished and very comfortable. The food quality was excellent but most outstanding was the courtesy and friendliness of all the staff , could not fault the service in any way.

Food in the cafe bar, at least not the dish which I chose. was not great. exstreamly hot during the night. parking was poor and to cramped.It needs a covered smoking area outside the building. Currently smokers use the main entrance when it is raining. Lack of somewhere comfortable to sit and the whole hotel is very tired and in need of a major update. Dinner was disappointing - uninspired and over-priced. lift worked, but did not inspire confidence. Rooms very a little small. The tv did not recieve even the basic channels. The lift shudders enough to give you the shakes. First assigned room was next to room with crying baby. Next room was next to elevator and window was above service entrance and where the staff went to smoke, therefore noisy early the next morning. The beds were not made well. Some non-customer facing staff could be heard swearing outside rooms.The hotel is looking a bit jaded in places, needs redecorating andmodernising in places, has potential to be a top hotel. The rooms are very small and dated.Tired room and communal areas now (thread bare carpet and carpet tape inmain reception!) dirty grout in b'room. Peeling wall paper. Dinning roomwas nice.recommended as long as you don't pay anything ike peg price!!. the bed was very uncomfortable. Some of the bar pricing a little excessive. slow breakfast service. The lift needs to be sorted out it was not working when we arrived and was not able to reach the third floor, which was where our room was. The room had a very pleasant outlook but was very hot. Thought it was over priced and a bit drab!. tight car parking. The parking facilities.Hotel could do with some modernising , breakfast and check out times a bit early for a leasure break ,Room quite basic / overlooked car park very noisey,Room cold during night heating off !! TV broken in room Thought the hotel was pricey for what it was but padstow in general is very over priced as a resort compared to St Ives, Falmouth,Looe would visit Padstow again but not to stay in. Inability to have evening meal in Hotel because of full bookings. As a hotel guest would expect to be able to eat in Hotel dining room.The room was very small with a very poor view considering that was why I booked the room. The room did not justify the £185 price tag and i did query the rate shortly after booking in. The standard of housekeeping was very poor with out of date milk with a green deposit in the room, heavy dust deposits on the mirror edges, not enough hot water to have a decent shower all housed in an attic space!.

We have a large restaurant overlooking the harbour and estuary. We were recently awarded a 'Rosette' by the AA. Our menu changes with the seasons and we offer a special daily menu with extra lovely dishes. 2 and 3courses @ reasonable price pp.
