Nothing is too much trouble in this hotel. Excellent all round!. Friendliness and professionalism of staff. The comfortable surroundings made my stay enjoyable as did the courteousand friendly staff. The food was fantastic with a wide range availbe inthe Restaurant and the bar. Check out was quick and simple, which meantthat I could get on with my day without a delay. The Modern Decor, the clenliness, the helpfulness and freindliness of the staff. The sauna, pool and steam room were a real bonus.

We do not like the high charge for breakfast when my wife and I have routinely two cups of tea, glass of orange juice and 1-2 slices of toast. So we don't pay and go to a cafe in Oxford! we do realise this is an increasingly common custom in hotels.Receptions management when arriving at hotel were not welcoming verging on rude. Misunderstanding with the reservation details. the bedroom corridors are like a warren and this was difficult for an older person in ourparty. There didn't seem to be a lift or if there was it was not advertised well.The restaurant was understaffed. The individual staff were excellent but rushed off their feet. There were too few of them and the wait for attention and food was unacceptable. As I said, looking out onto a concrete wall struck me as ridiculouslypoor design planning. Lovely grounds--- guests should be able to enjoythem. The views from the rooms is extremely depressing, as I said, atleast our particular rooms. If I were to recommend this hotel, I wouldmake sure to tell the person to ask for a second floor room with a view.Reception staff not helpful and felt intimidated by them on more than 1 occasion. Breakfast was included in our room rate but twice we had to sort this out at reception. Area by sauna didn't look very nice. Not sure if the pool was clean?. No breakfast was provided. Also had a power outage in the room but intheir favour, they transferred me to another room without delay.Coffe shop/ snacks only available at certain times, needs to beopen all day. Swimming pool facilities need maintenance - steam room not working, cold water in showers one day. Rooms very stuffy with the AC unit running, but cold if switched off.My room in particular was very small. Too much momey for too little room. air-con doesn't work properly and noisy.The restaurant was not able ot fit us in until 8.45pm. When we arrived at that time, there was no tables available. We had to wait a further 30 minutes. The service was slow in the restaurant, although the waiter did his best. Wasn't overly happy with choices of evening meal. Also service was slow - staff very friendly but our ordered meals took ages to arrive and on one occasion were given to the wrong table resulting in our having to wait even longer.The hotel is rated as a 4 star, in my opinion it isn’t! It's more a 3 Star. The Hotel is very expensive for drinks and food. The breakfast (which was included in the price) we ordered to the bedroom. Same didn’t come with any tea/coffee or juice (we didn’t request it) one would assume it came automatically. The reception area was relaxing, we ordered food when we arrived and they managed to forget. Surcharge for breakfast and the size of the double room was wholly inadequate.No air conditioning in room - heat only..Too hot and stuffy. food. Pool customer relations concerning broken pool. Poor service in restaurant especially at dinner and low staff morale. The staff were surly and unhelpful, resturant service slow, espcially as it was not busy, bar staff poor. The standard of cleanliness in our room was poor, which led us to wonder about the rest of the hotel. The bathroom particularly was not very clean with mouldy tiles and shower curtains and a shower which did not work. We felt that because we had booked via yourselves and therefore not paid the normal tariff, we had been placed in a lower standard of bedroom. I did not like the following; faulty plumbing,tatty carpets; in places frayed, taped down and in the room threshold bar loose and missing fixings.Toasters in dining room defective, on the first morning only one worked, second morning both caught fire.Many staff don't speak good English. Pre charging on credit card despicable. Yes, the hotel has too few staff, so checking in and checking out wasdifficult. Nothing wrong with the attitude of the staff, they werefine and pleasant, just not enough of them. Breakfast suffered fromthe same problem, too few staff. Some of the food was pretty muchinedible or stale. A lot. I think I will probably write to them , not really to complain but more to point out how far away they are from what Holiday Inn or Marrriot do. Basically they are not a four star hotel. Their own description is practically misleading. The staff are willing and pleasant but the management vision of what they need to provide to justify their price structure is pathetic.Attitude of reception staff.
