Bedroom facilities. Ensuite very clean. Beds comfy, good airing (been in hotels where couldn't open window so it was lovely to be able to do so).Wifi. Breakfast menu was good but..... We had a few issues with our room but was up-graded the next day and it was excellent. We were met with a friendly welcome smile from all the staff in all areas. Proximity to amenities, friendly staff with warm welcome. Great music and entertainment. Comfort of rooms and excellent care.
all reviews » This is a lovely hotel with excellent staff and large, bright and modern bedrooms. For value for money, it is unbeatable. the room design was very good - plenty of space and very hot showers all the staff were very cheerful and welcoming. Excellent value for money. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location and the craic was great. Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was spacious and comfortable and the meals were excellent. it was on the outskirts of the town and a good base to explore the numerous attractions close by. A friendly town. People very approachable and helpful. Music at Clandeboye House fantastic. Saturday night in the bar and restaurant we felt very intimidated with rowdy outside customers. We understand it was a music night but we couldn't even speak to each other so we went to our room. It would have been nice if upstair bar was open for hotel residants so we could have had a quiet drink. Room too warm and thermostat not working efficiently. Frozen veg served at meals - should be fresh. the net curtain in the bedroom was rather old and had holes in it which detracted somewhat the TV, whilst never of importance, seemed to show little other than sports channels: free-to-view / BBC news channels would have been good. Stayed during graduation week and it was noisy but understand it was a one off and we would definitely stay here again. bed bit hard. Nothing to dislike and would stay again if lucky enough to get to go again to the area. the music from the disco at the weekends goes until 1 am didnt get much sleep. Christmas carols - a little too early (not a real complaint). The beds where not comfy. Price of drinks in the bar seemed a bit excesive. Couldnt find any faults. Insecure car park. I stayed at the Strangford Arms approx 6 weeks ago and was impressed by how clean it was.Between then and now it has taken a backward step. bar very dark. Pillows were awful not comfortable at all, and there were only towels for one in the room. There was no massage service or massage chair in the hotel . Room Bloody Freezing despite heating on full. Access to hotel is restricted. Tea cups too small in bedroom. Very noisy at club closing time, shouting, whopping, hollering etc THEN just as things quitened down around 2.30-3.00am someone decided to put out bottles and rubbish making the next 15 minutes VERY noisy!!! Second time this has happened to me here. while room was comfortable. I could nt open the window of room as it was looking on to storage in back yard but only there 1 night so it was nt a big issue. Heat in room, lack of sufficient wi-fi, noise from Nighclub (but had been warned and wan't too bad) . The external appearance and lobby were shabby. The breakfast was pathetic. When I came down at 8-30 I assumed,as it was Sunday, that the buffet table had yet to be set. That was not the case. Noisy outside as we were above what appeared to be the laundry. There was also a strong smell of detergent. very unplesaent. That although on the 3rd floor that my bed vibrated from the music coming from the bar & it was extremely noisy with drunks coming & going until after 2am. Also staff refused to give me the reduced rate agreed as was attending a function there. The smell, there was a smell of dirty carpets in the restaurant, the lift and the corridors, the bar was grubby like a nightclub, the music was very loud very late, the carpet in the bedroom was filthy. Overall the facilities needed a deep clean. The breakfast buffet was small amd the food was wet and soggy looking. My daughter is 11 and felt unsafe because of the noise and security in the rooms. We didn't even stay for breakfast. We won't be coming back. the deposit having to b paid before the stay wen u got to hotel bed was two singles pushed together and the floor wd of prob bn softner than the mattress.
