This was an excellent experience.The staff were very helpful and friendly.I very kindly was given an upgrade by Rachel as I was celebrating my birthday and also the Happy Birthday plus chocolates in my room was a very thoughtful touch. The River Bar is very chic yet split into different areas giving rise to a feeling of intimacy and privacy if you so wish.Both Victoria and Marcus were very friendly and relaxed and made our stay all the more memorable. I will definitely return in the near future.
all reviews » I booked this hotel as a Xmas present for my partner along with tickets to a show at MEN, the hotel was beautiful, comfortable and the staff were professional, helpful and attentive nothing was too much trouble for them. We went to the hotel bar after the show which was intimate,comfortable and once again excellent service from the staff. All in all our stay was wonderful and we will definately be staying here again in the not too distant future x. Rooms were very comfortable and extremely clean and tidy as were all the public areas. The reception staff were the best I have ever had and they could not do enough when asked. They arranged a fantastic italian resturant for us and their knowledge was most help full. Though I might say that really of all !! the staff we came into conversation with. The hotel is very commendable. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, our bags were taken and the offer of taking to our rooms. The staff were extremely friendly. The person who brought our bags to our room was extremely friendly and helpful, hung our coats up and put out bags away. The beds were extremely comfortable and really big!. Loved everything about the hotel. They have spacious rooms with large windows. I asked for connected rooms and I got them. There were extra beds as I requested and teddy bears in cute robes were put for my kids. My kids and I loved the gesture. Simply loved my stay in the hotel and highly recommend .it. Rooms where big size, big comfortable bed, good email connection, bar area well designed, restaurant excellent design and super food, all staff from porters, reception, bar and restaurant , to room cleaners very freindly and efficient. Iron & board in room, finally very good car parking. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff and were also upgraded to a riverside suite. When we needed directions to the venue for the concert we were attending, the staff were very helpful. Great room service and in the restaurant. Overall a very enjoyable experience for us both. Everything was great we had 2 double rooms and I requested a wheel chair on line and when we got there they had arrange a a disabled room for my mum.my daughter even even left her contact solution at home and the concierge even found her some at midnight. The beds are vast and comfortable. The bathrooms well appointed including a bidet. Staff very helpful. This is a good hotel - I've stayed in some 5 star hotels I wouldn't return to but the Lowry is special. Spaciousness, size, cleanliness and facilities of the suite; quality of the breakfast; staff's courtesy and attention to detail; the short walk to dozens of shops, restaurants and the city centre. I love the modern and spacious design of the Lowry. Rooms are calmly luxurious. River view is urban/industrial but somehow I found that utterly captivating. Ren toiletries are a treat. staff were amazing! they were able to help with any of our requests and really welcoming. room was amazing so big. right in the centre was in walking distance of everything. We celebrated our wedding night and it was great. We were givencomplimentary champagne and a card on our arrival to the room. Room.was clean an bathroom was spotless. This is a beautiful hotel and even with staff changes and slightly less friendly staff in the bar upstairs, this is still Manchester's best hotel. Everything! Attention to detail could of been better, for example, the chaise lounge was ripped underneath and you could see the material hanging down from underneath. There was tea stains on the black out blind and stains on the headboard. If things like this were fixed, I would say the hotel would of been perfect for me. It did take the 'luxury' out of it for me for those reasons. The extra beds were a bit shaky. Difficult to get beer drinking glasses in room as cleared away when room cleaned but not replaced. Room refrigerator too small and not stocked daily, why does this have to be small and hidden inside a small draw, why can't there be a decent size stand alone refridgerator in room which is not hidden. Need at least 2 x more desk electric power sockets for computers, cell phones chargers and others have to unplug some to charge others. No hair dryer in bathroom. I cannot find anything detrimental to comment on about our stay. Facilities, staff and service overall were excellent. Breakfast service a little slow - needs to be more attentive - plates not cleared by the time the cooked breakfast arrive - quality of food was very good. My standard test is poached eggs and they were excellent on both days. No fresh fruit at breakfast. The french toast I ordered with crispy bacon was disappointing. Tasted like cardboard and the bacon was not crispy. Sorry, can't think of anything. I really love this hotel, but would love it even more if they spruced up the spa area, which is currently out of keeping with the luxurious modern feel of the rest of the hotel. Only thing I could fault was our heating system was not working but we were given a heater and a partial refund as compensation by the manager which we were happy with. The fact that we only stayed one night!. You had to pay for wifi. I also could not find the tea and coffee making facilities, eventually found a small notice to ring housekeeping. It was too late by then! Didnt spoil the stay and overall a great hotel and had a lovely stay. Car parking charges. The 'spa' is not really a spa. Needs a steam room at v least. Not a 5-star spa. Staff were great but the facility was too basic when compared to other top-class rivals. have you been to the St Davids or Balmoral? I appreciate that this is down to the limitation of the building but you did ask... Having to ask for tea and coffee making tray, although it wasn't a problem. no tea / coffee making facilities in the room. it would be nice to have had our cooked breakfast served rather than buffet style. nothing. The bar food was not hot enough, chips undercooked so not overly impressed.I Was told on booking that we could book dinner on arrival. On arrival we were told the restaurant was full so that was disappointing. Expensive for what it is. Relaxation facilities bit of a joke really and access limited due to operational hours. The mini bar prices were a bit steep but that is not surprising I suppose. That we couldn't have stayed longer. Nothing really. Nothing. nothing. The breakfast. the restaurant staff were a bit slow between course and had to pour the wine our self's I thought we had booked a river room? did not get one as I was not sure of the booking so did not complain. Noise from aircon above as on top floor. Wi-Fi should be free at these prices. £19.95 per person for breakfast so we ate out. Complicated drive to the Hotel with very few street names and no Hotel signs until we arrived. The hotel did give us directions which were good but with no street names guessing was the game. The fact that there was no tea/coffee facilities in room and "tiny" card (which can be missed) telling you to contact reception if these facilities were wanted. Nothing that i didnt not like atall. No swimming pool- so spa was only treatments thought there might be a Jacuzzi didn't check minibars prices were extremely over priced 4.00 for a chocolate bar 30.00 for a bottle of wine even 4.00 for a bottle of water. Bar prices a bit high.
