the hotel was first class and the staff were extremly helpful and friendly the free courtasy bus was a real bonus as was the ferry service from the hotel to canary wharf. this is a highly recomended hotel. Can not fault this hotel. Excellent situation and rooms with a balconyand river view. All staff were friendly and very helpful and theunderground secure parking was easy and a big bonus.

We stayed there for two days with our little daughter and I must say we were nicely surprised with quality of the hotel. We couldn't enter the parking on foot from the entrance near the hotel because the cards we were given didn't seem to work, so we had to walk around about 400 meters to the main entrance. the price of the buffets---overpriced. The pressure of getting back to catch the last ferry to take you across to the hotel at 11.30pm was not good, only other means of getting back from the centre of London were by taxi which costs £26. The prices at the bar were rather extortionate, the same with the hotels taxi service. Both were about double what you would expect to pay. Being an inside room on a courtyard, with obscure glass in the windows, it was a bit claustrophobic.Only the warren of corridors, doors and lifts.....but it makes its revenue on selling rooms not access.....!. Some of the decor is a little tired. The price. Room was nice clean and cosy, good location also and bus to the tube helped a lot but room service and food prices were crazy! So much better off bringing your own!. first night unable to turn off air conditioning that was noisy and cold. and no suitable replacement room . but apart from that great room. Breakfast expensive at about £18. The room was quite small although the bathroom was a good size.far too much clorine in the jacuzzi had to leave eyes were stinging and my girlfriend was having breathing problems,other than this all was well. underground car park was a little tight.Use of Internet in the room is by far too expensive. The location was difficult for getting into the centre of London however this is a shuttle bus that transports you to Canada Water tube station and with planning this would not impact travel. the price of food and drinks was outrageous. Room service staff were rude, hung up the phone on us when trying to place an order and we were dissapointed with the value for money on the desert (chocolate fondant).

London’s proud dock area, rival to The City as a new financial district
London was built on its river trade and for centuries masted galleons sailed up the River Thames to deposit their silks, spices, coffee and tea in the city wharves of Rotherhithe. When business boomed with the British Empire, the original wharves no longer did the job. So The Docklands were born a mile to the east, and on completion in 1802, the purpose-built West India Docks were the envy of the world.

Redeveloped in the 1980s as a rival business district to The City, the Docklands are now booming with the ExCel Exhibition and Conference Centre in the Royal Victoria Dock, easy access to London City Airport, the tallest building in Britain (the 800-foot, pyramid-topped Canary Wharf Tower) and Foster’s award-winning Jubilee line tube station.

Facing Canary Wharf across the Thames, Rotherhithe (the older docks area) is a fascinating mixture of past and present with luxury riverside apartments separated by medieval smugglers’ inns (the Angel and the Mayflower).
