Single room to roadside was clean and tidy, enough space, shower and toilet nearby on the aisle, but for privat use only, was clean and ok, breakfast in the Pub downstairs was continental, a little bit simple but sufficent (coffe/tea, toast, ham, cheese, cereals, juice, fruits), staff friendly and polite. all reviews » Room was very spacious, and even had a cute old fashioned stove as an 'original feature' I assume. Wi-Fi was excellent. Table and chairs so you can eat in the room and not be on the bed which was nice. Also we had a sink, fridge, and stove etc in our room. Would've come in handy on a longer stay. Overall it proved a good option for us, as we have been to London several times before, maybe not the best for a first time visitor. There still effortable Guest houses in London . Kilburn High Road runs directly outside the door and is very very busy, so real heavy traffic noise round the clock is a thing to live with, especially in rooms on roadside, severe problem in summerheat, when you need open windows (they are good isolating) to breath and closed ones to sleep! No air condition. Noise from the Pub exists but normally ends round midnight and is peanuts when compared with the traffic, which never stops!. Breakfast wasn't the best if you got the free option, but you can pay a little and get a cooked breakfast or be stingy like us and make do with free. Room a little cool at night, but I actually prefer that to boiling hot like a lot of other rooms have been. However there was one disappointing factor which was the bathroom. It was a cupboard. We are not the smallest of people and struggled with using the facilities as the was a sink in the middle of the cupboard was a struggle to get around. So we will definatley be requesting a bigger bathroom. Also the tea bags were not great in the room. There was never any one at reception. The bathroom (drains,maybe?) smelt very bad! They made the whole bathroom smell awful. We stayed in the first bedroom- the stairway and doors slamming were VERY loud...maybe put a sign up asking customers to quietly close doors and walk up the stairs with consideration. My friends' room was a bit shabby and old and dingy...it looks like they are doing it up bit by bit. Some traffic noise in my room which faced the main road. There is no air conditioning in rooms, was too warm even at nights. Squeaky bed. Could hear next door snoring；Kettle is too small. Next to a busy street and all wooden floors made it quite noisy, but not too much and we didn't mind. Nothing. Stairs difficult to negotiate with heavy luggage. No room service. Although the room had an own toilet and shower, those were situated outside the room down the hallway! Extremely busy road just outside will keep you awake. The first room I had was like that you would find in a youth hostel it was awful. Food downstairs was expensive I didn't eat there. we had some problem with the WiFi that had worked just some days, the first day we hadn't the hot water and there were a constant stink. The lock on the door to the room didn't work, so could be opened by anyone from the outside. It was quite late when I arrived and I didn't have the energy to complain about it at the time and then wait for a locksmith, so I just pushed the wardrobe up against the door!. The breakfast was not so good. It is possible to do a lot better with this nice old building. The staff are extremely unfriendly, rude and generally uninterested in customers service. Smile more guys :). The room was dirty, a lot of dust. It wasn't very warm. The customer's service was not very kind and friendly. In addition, breakfast was quite little. They tell you that you can take an English breakfast if you pay 3 pounds more (aprox). But that isn't true, so we could take it only one day! The next day waitress told us it was impossible.... Staff, poor towels, cheap toiletries, only 1 pillow each, noise from road, miserable breakfast with lukewarm coffee, lukewarm water in flask for tea, no sugar (except for lumps - not suitable for cornflakes!), cheap bread, unrefrigerated yoghurt, cheap ham & cheese. Light fittings were scarey.....Main light fitting looked like a spider, red, black and white pointed and twisted tendrils hanging down....not good feng shui Wall lights were equally weird had black burned out bulbs, melted along the metal fittings, we were afraid to switch those on. Even if they worked they were attached to the wall and very high up. There is no one on the desk at reception until 1pm each day. The breakfast was poor and the security of the hotel. Very noisy in the hotel and tiny rooms with tiny bathrooms. The door of the room do not locked. I have taken a picture of the inside of the kettle it was disgusting. Full of brown gunge. I will be contacting the hotel to tell them. It was a good job I took the lid off the kettle otherwise I wouldnt of noticed. Would definately not stay there again or recommend to others.
