  Made very welcome on arrival. I had asked for a room on a lower floor and was given one of the "chalets" at the side of the pub. This more than suited our needs. We ate in the pub that evening and the food and the service were first class, as was the breakfast. - Very attentive staff. Lovely home cooked food that was well presented and tasty.   The hotel concentrates on real comfort rather than frills. The couple running it are genuinely friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and welcoming, and well appointed for the price. There is no hair-dryer in the room but ample tea and coffee facilities, comfortable beds, and spare bedding in the wardrobe.
