The staff are very welcoming and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble for them. They are all polite; not only did they look after us in the hotel they looked after all my guests in the party 200 of them. I have had calls from lots of people saying how good the party was and how well organised it all was. They are superb in there. just the old world charm mixed with modern i was looking for. staff are friendly and a joy to talk with . the owner himself often takes an interest or a drink with his guest. anyone can stay at a chain hotel but this is a true likeness of the wonderful people of liverpool. gardens and grounds well groomed thanks for the great time.

The Devonshire hotel was spacious and it was easy to transport to shops and other site seeing locations.the hotel was good value for money and the room was very comfortable. the breakfast was delicious the room very cosy clean and comfortable. room was excellent and staff very friendly, food was very very good. No shower curtain, so water got everywhere, but I'm in holland now and it's like that too, so maybe it's a euro thing.Bath/shower control was difficult - had to get my husband to sort it out for me. Net curtains in bedroom needed a wash. The corridors were poorly lit.The Gate. to surf wifi need to pay. A bit run down in places but friendly and pleasant, bar prices were ok. no drawer storage, OK for one night but we were there a week. The most of the staff was very nice, but some of them wasn´t very willing to help us when we need it. One minor fault was water down to a trickle first thing in morning and shower kept coming loose from the holder.Room facilities; Bathroom seriously needed renovation; Location (just off Edge Lane!). Breakfast seemed expensive. But it may have been worth it. I don't knowbecause we didn't bother!. No towel rail in the bathroom; wireless quite unreliable. TV reception wasn't very good and very limited channel choice. the outer decoration of the buildings. location a bit grim. The hotel's overall decor needs attention eg bare walls, torn/missing wallpaper. Tea/coffee making facilities would've been appreciated. Not really a dislike just a comment, thought the hotel could do with a lick of paint throughout it would compliment the style of the hotel.The bed was uncomfortable and lumpy. The decor is very down at heels and restaurant and bar service is poor.theshower heads in the shower were very basic and could do with replacing.
