The position of the hotel on The Strand was brilliant for sight-seeing. Even though our room was at the front the shutter system meant we had virtually no noise or light at night, so we had a good nights sleep. Warm and welcoming. Food excellent except for one entree and lack of chef for breakfast early one morning but choices were great. We liked absolutely everything about the Fielding. It's a little bit quirky which makes it even more perfect! Fabulous location, so quiet too! We walked to Spittalfields and beyond and back! We live on the south coast and were woken by seagulls! Felt like home from home. Manageress/owner was so friendly & welcoming, made us feel individual rather than just another guest. Bed was oh-so-comfy, and the shower had a seperate hand-spray too, hooray! 10 out of 10, a little gem!

Location: near British Museum which we were visiting for exhibition; virtually next door to Holborn Tube; close to Oxford Street but also next to the greenery and relative peace of Lincoln's Inn Fields - so a quiet night. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance - including places for breakfast as not included (Fleet River Bakery or Paul's). Small room but very clean and modern with smart bathroom.
