  The all-day menu has many choices and all that we ate was not only tasty but served in very generous quantities. Similarly the full breakfast was enormous, served with copious delicious brown bread toast. The twin-bedded room was of good size with plenty of drawer and hanging storage. Although the inn is on the main Buxton -Ashbourne road the bedr... what people say » ooms are at the back and very quiet. The inn furnishings are in keeping with its period, but comfortable. The bed was very comfortable with quality du - The homely welcoming atmosphere; the warm rooms and comfortable beds with unlimited hot water for showering and/or bathing; the location. The meals were fantastic. The breakfast was generous and excellent and we (6 of us) decided to have our evening meal there each evening of our 3 night stay. The selection was superb; the quality marvellous and the portions generous. Throughout the whole of our stay the staff were wonderful - friendly, efficient, helpful and cheerful.

  I took my daughter to gullivers and stayed at Harrington which was quite good. The only down side was after booking my room it turned out I was a woman with no children..?.. So I rang and after being told they could move me to another room at a slight extra cost I said yes... 2.5 times the price later I'd been moved to a 4 bed bedroom.. Needless t... what people say » o say a slight increase wasn't slight and the booking site didn't ask if I was a male of female so how I ended up in the woman dorm ill never know. Ov - Rooms for 4 are a good size (in the Barn). The location is fantastic for family and serious cycling - small details such as spare locks to rent make a difference. The food on offer is very good, substantial and excellent value. lounge and library have warming fires and an old fashioned atmosphere. Hartington bitter on tap! The village pub (not hotel) has super food too. And the local scenery. What's not to like?

  The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They have a good, well priced menu and the food was very good. The bar was cosy and had some good real ales on tap.   The staf were very friendly, warm and welcoming during our stay. Newton house is in a great location, with lovely surrounding views and great accessibility to hiking and walking trails. My boyfriend and I loved our stay and would definitely visit again - The fact that the staff were more than happy to move us to a more spacious room.
