What people say
I booked this hotel as I was arriving late by train into Glasgow and getting a very early train the next day, so wanted something inexpensive in a central location. I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and helpful the member of staff on reception was, he give me advice about getting a late meal/take away from nearby Sauchiehall Street, and arranged an early breakfast for me at 6 am the next day ( which he served to me himself!) and even printed me a walking map to the station. Excellent. all reviews »
All staff extremely friendly and helpful. Atmosphere very welcoming. Hot water available all the time, fresh towels daily and room cleaned thoroughly. Super breakfast. Internet access, couldn't have asked for more, really enjoyed our stay.friendly staff ,helpfull, welcomeing. nothing to worry about reception ladie and kitchen staff did an excellent job clean tidy etc lovely team and excellent guest house . great breakfast and clean and tidy rooms. Iv paid double for holiday inns before now and they do not meet this standard for the price.was very close to the pubs on sauchiehall street, which was great for us. And the 4-bed room was excellent. all staff were so friendly, good value for money, clean room, good breakfast, good location..was able to just get on with my stay but felt if i needed any help it was always at hand. McLays has a lovely homely feel about it and i was made to feel really welcome!. Excellent value for the price - clean, comfortable and good location. Friendly staff and the location - close in to the center of Glasgow.Good value, location, quiet, friendly, helpful staff. Smilling staff. The bed was comfortable, 10-15 min walk from bus station, easy internet access. The staff was great at helping me while I was stranded from cancelled flights due to the volcano!!. Location, cleanliness and helpful staff are excellent. This is my second stay here, everything is the high standard as the same.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Television had SKY Sports 1,2 and 3 plus also showed a live football match on Setanta. large very comfortable room very clean we were in the new part of the hotel receptionist very pleasant and helpful. it is situated perfectly in centre of town and its really friendly breakfasts are perfect after a night out!. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean room is very comfortable. Hot water is available quickly.Inexpensive friendly hotel, centrally located, and very good value for the price. Reasonably priced even though it is very central. Friendly staff, nice room and good breakfast. Clean room good staff. Near the city center. Very clean, excellent staff, good breafast - good value, I would stay there again. The experiance reminded me a little of a Ryokan (a family inn, with shared bath) I recently stay at with my wife in Japan.Large, high ceiling double bedroom with ensuite, tv, desk, large wardrobe and comfy bed. Very clean and spacious room. Hotel just off Sauchiehall Street. Everything you need for a short stay. It is central to everything. 5 min walk to Glasgow's famous shopping centre..Sauchihall Street...perfect location.reception efficient and friendly; central location: excellent value for the money. Exceptionally helpful /pleasant reception staff. The breakfast. I had booked a double room, however on arrival I was given a family sized room. The bathroom was lovely, the decor in the bedroom was very simple and the receptions / rooms were well signposted. Also, when my friend decided at 3am to get a room, they gave her the room beside mine.Although some of the communal areas are showing some wear, the rooms are very clean and warm. Access to internet is very useful. Central location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Had everything I needed at a very reasonable price.the humour and help of Ann at the reception because my luggage got lost on the flight. It was close to the hospital my Daughter was attending and other shops too.near to the town centre....for the value of money....its the best one!. very freindly, clean help staff close to town centre great breakfast. Personable staff, friendly, good service, very good value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff. The shower was excellent.Value for the money. The staff was extremly helpful!. The location, the friendly staff and the breakfast. Very straightforward and friendly, helpful staff. Friendly effivcient staff and quality service. Very nice staff. Clean rooms, ok breakfast. Very friendly staff. Great location.Value for money. friendly staff. Safety. Nice. I only stayed there for 1 night, which was about right. Not sure I would have wanted to stay there much longer. Good, no frills, budget accomodation and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Well run. It had some aspects of sky television and the breakfast staff went about their business briskly but also with a smile. Made all the difference to me.Decor and soft furnishings could do with updating, but then this would probably reflect in the price of a room. the doors bangs frm time to time ..i would say its guest problem..The room was different then the picture online, no remote for tv and no elevator (so pack light). TV in the room had broken and there is no lock in the ensuit bathroom. No lift. My room is near the reception, so it was noisy. I have stayed there before ( but your site was the cheapest rate I have had ) Guest House could do with a 'lick' of paint...and the windows in bedrooms rooms always seem to have a 'draught' blowing through...but the radiators are very hot all night....so one won't die of the cold.....The waitress staff are great and so so so so friendly..........and that is tipical of the Glasgow people...they are all very friendly....and i shall continue to stay there....There were only little things wrong, such as the beds were slightly lumpy and the room was very cold in the morning. i had no problem as i had no luggage but getting up those front stairs with a heavy bag is a challenge. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the hotel has a cosy friendly atmosphere, but it could do with a few renovations and a lick of paint here and there. hotel should have lifts....its so hard to carry suitcases up the floors!. Nothing to dislike, the building is in the old quarter, and the decor could possibly do with updating, but the room and bedding was clean with available room heating and hot water shower, the saff were friendly and willing to please. The was no shower in our nearest bathroom just a bathtub. It is a little tatty but great value for money all the same. Directions to get to the hotel from the airport.
