This hotel is great! So lovely and clean, the rooms are massive & the bed is rather comfy!! Me & my boyfriend stayed in the lorne hotel 16th February after the x factor tour at the secc. We met a couple and brought them back for a few drinks at the cocktail bar, I may add the strawberry & raspberry daiquiris are amazing !!! I can't believe all the bad reviews about this hotel & it only being a 3 star .. It definitely should be a 4! Me & my boyfriend will most definitely be v.
all reviews » Very good modern hotel with all the normal features you would expect. Good room although the walk from the lift to my room through 3 or 4 fire doors and with a case isn't easy and there is a delay for the lights in each section to come on which could be an issue to nervous travellers. Cracking Indian resteraunt within the hotel which I would recommend. Nice bar area, good choice for business or pleasure, but it is about a mile or 2 from the city centre, however, pleanty of cabs and £3.50 fare t. I liked now friendly and professional the staff were and now they spoke to us. The hotel was very modern looking compared to the other hotels in the vicinity and was very clean. The roof was very well presented with a good television and beautiful bathroom. The restaurant had an amazing Indian food also which meant we did not need to go out into the freezing cold for a meal!. The hotel is very convenient for the SECC and not far from the city centre. The first room had an air-conditioning fault but the staff were able to move me to another without too much fuss. On the first night I ate at the hotel's Indian restaurant on the ground floor and the food was of above-average quality, and also reasonably priced. Overall the hotel was a good choice. Staff excellent and friendly. Rooms are lovely, well presented, laid out and clean, with air conditioning. Nice bottles of Lux shampoo/body wash and Dove hand soap in the bathroom. Towels and linen changed each day. Excellent waiting staff in restaurant, with a brilliant breakfast. Very happy & will return regularly . We liked the design of everything inside the hotel and the colors and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were looking forward to eating in the Indian but didn't get back to the hotel in time in the the smells were delicious coming through to the bar. The hotel was very clean and tidy, certainly a 'boutique' hotel as described on 'letsbookhotel.com', polite staff, excellent breakfast and restaurant was very professionally run! Would defiantly stay there again. This is my second visit. I love the decor in the rooms. Especially the room my friend and I were given this time. The staff are friendly and the hotel is clean. Not a dislike just a note worth considering - parking can be busy and it's on the street. The corridors did stink of paint a bit which was a little off putting. I think the lighting could be adjusted in the room also as you either had it extremely bright or very dull, there was no in between. Also, the room was very cold and once we managed to change the thermostat on the wall, it taken about two hours to actually warm the room up. There is no hotel parking as such, and parking in the streets around the hotel is not easy, free from 6pm to 8am, but time-limited tickets during the day. Not something that particularly bothered me but other travellers may be - when the neighbour above me flushed the toilet or had a shower I could hear water going through pipes in the room's air vent quite clearly . We only had 4 tiny sugar sachets in the room and it doesn't really equal much. Power cut when we arrived through the night, although I understand this isn't something under their control, there was no apology for any inconvenience. However this should not put off future guests as I'm sure if wont happen often. Room was very small but had everything necessary. Only parking was on the street outside but had no trouble getting a space. No Hotel Parking for Paying Guests. The room was small but very adequate The bed however had the worst mattress ever, needs to be condemed, seriously uncomfortable. nothing. Stayed two nights and did not come across anything negative to mention. Breakfast was okay, but not worth 10 pounds per day. Nothing could be disliked about this hotel. Minor frustrations - Wifi did not connect in room. Toilet seat not attached properly and the window and venetian blind above the bath seemed a bit odd. Parking was not great but would not stop me from going back to the hotel. nothing to dislike. There wasn't anything we didn't like. It was very good value . Nothing. There was nothing that put us off and we will use this hotel again. Small room however is manageable. Hated the shower head on the shower it sprayed water all over the bathroom , had to hold it too enable a shower. The instant tea from the machine at breakfast was horrible !. Was given the wrong room then to be told it's not my fault! Given a silly uncomfortable camp bed then to try to have a shower with NO hot water. I'm still waiting for the general manager to call!! Nevermind you won't get my custom again!. No Parking except for on the street, which was a hassle. English speaking staff at reception would help. Slow in checking in because of language barrier. At the price I paid - nothing to not like. Badly fitted carpet in room, bathroom area had very large plain glassed window that had badly damaged blind which did not close at sections looking onto beds in room area. As a lone business traveller two things are important to me, restaurant and parking. This hotel said parking available but when I got there it was parking on the street and it was payable at metres. All were taken when I got there. How do I get into my hotel and relax after a hard day travelling and consulting, when I have to find a public parking spot. Very annoyed that this was not explained on website as would not have booked it. The smell of curry but it wouldn't put me off staying again. Noisy neighbours and that the fire doors slammed a lot!. Internet wifi was very poor strength, had difficulty catching with work emails etc. Breakfast was disappointing and only had breakfast only once in the 3 day stay. not enough tea/coffee/milk/sugar only enough for one cup of tea each. Long walk to room 332 Long term stain on carpet. Parking could be an issue. tv was of poor quality. wasnt much room to sit at desk and sharp edge on underside of desk and nearly ripped my jeans when getting up out chair. there was no biscuits which i though was quite poor for the price.was quite a distance from main areas. Beer to pricy compared too locals on the corner. Parking, No hot breakfast due to small amount of residents. no complimentary biscuits,no draught bitter on bar.expensive breakfast.
