I'm on gluten free diet - had no problems whatsoever. The chef even amended the Valentine's Day menu in the Grill Room. All the staff were exceptionally helpful. The rooftop hyropool was wonderful. The upgrade to our room was very comfortable and appreciated. The staff were all very helpfull and friendly.very close to city centre and entertainment establishments. Everything was just perfect. It was a wonderful experience.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa Edinburgh is an excellent, luxurious hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. The location is perfect for walking to all Edinburgh's main attractions. Even though I was in the basic room, it was ample for our needs and the bed was so comfortable, one of the best nights sleep I have had. If this hotel is within your budget I would thoroughly recommend it.Staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed and very enjoyable. The food and the use of the Spa. We really enjoyed our stay here, when we checked in the staff were really friendly and the rooms were comfy and very clean. I would definitely go to this hotel again. When flowere, designs, plants, etc. etc. would make thedifference. i was in room 316 which was very noisy,not people some sort of mechanism went on all night. there was some confusion at check-out, in that the reception staff did not know that I had a preferential rate booked through booking.com and it took about 15mins for the situation to be clarified and for chek-out to occur. Overpriced breakfast. The additional fee to use the hydro pool, sauna etc in the spa. The concierge was not very helpful when we were leaving. The pool was great but you did have to pay an extra 25.00 pounds each to use the whole spa facilities which I feel should have been included in the price if you were hotel guests. it was pricey but enjoyable rooms were not as boutique as we thought they would be for a 5star. Understaffed at reception. Expensive comared with others of similar standard. Additional payments for sauna etc were unreasonable.The poor English spoken by reception staff was an issue both at reservation point and check in. The receptionist very pleasant but very hampered by lack of language skills and comprehension. Very dissapointed with the experience. Everything was okay at the hotel, however paying a premium price for a 5* hotel I would expect it to be of a higher standard. Bathroom was smaller than most travel lodges, view from window was rubbish (skip and wall of hotel) and even having seperate pool facilities was inconvenient for guests. For a romantic getaway very, very dissapointed.

One Spa offers guests the ultimate in luxury with: 19 multi-purpose treatment rooms; a 19-metre swimming pool; state-of-the-art gym and fitness studios and a carefully designed Thermal Suite with an impressive variety of holistic heat experiences including: an aroma grotto, rock sauna, bio-sauna, tepidarium, laconium and hammam. Unique to One is the outdoor hydro-pool: a stainless steel pool cut into the rooftop of the building with a cedar plank curved rear wall, accessed by swimming from the indoor hydro-pool. Dramatically lit at night, the 35ºC salt water evaporates into a soft mist in the air above the pool creating an unforgettably relaxing and romantic image. Please note that an additional fee will be charged for the usage of the Spa. However, hotel guests can experience the Thermal Suite and rooftop hydro-pool at a discounted rate.

Important information to guests

The hotel requires a security deposit at check-in (either photo ID and credit card, or cash). There is a surcharge of GBP 30 per person to use the thermal suite and rooftop hydro-pool. This should be booked before arrival to avoid disappointment. Children under 16 have limited access to the swimming pool and cannot use other spa facilities. The hotel requires guests to show the same card used for prepayment at check-in. If they are not able to bring that card with them then they need to contact the property to get a third party payment form. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
