Lochend Apartments are a complex of 42 serviced apartments, situated in Leith, 1.6 miles from Edinburgh Princes Street, 1.4 miles from Edinburgh Playhouse and less than a mile from Leith Ocean Terminal/Royal Yacht Britannia. Each apartment features free WiFi and free Sky Sports/Sky Movies channels. Each apartment has a kitchen/dining area, all cutlery and crockery provided with washing machine/tumble dryer, cooking facilities and a fridge. They each have a lounge with a fireplace and a TV with Freeview channels. A breakfast starter pack with tea, coffee, sugar and cereal is provided on the day of check-in and their are 2 supermarkets just 2 minutes’ walk away. All bed linen and towels are provided in each apartment as well as ironing facilities and hairdryers. The Lochend Serviced Apartments also contain fold away beds as an extra bed option. The 34 bus stops outside Lochend Serviced Apartments and takes 10 minutes to reach Edinburgh city centre and Waverley Rail Station. Edinburgh Royal Yacht Britannia is 10 minutes in the opposite direction.

Location, public transport outside the door, lift to upper floors, good size apartment has 2 bathrooms, large enough for a family of 4, washer/dryer in the apartment - we didn't have to look for a laundry. Very friendly staff (especially Billy). Excellent internet access and TV channels. Very comfortable and great value for money. staff, has two toilet, many TV channels.

Good location with easy bus access to downtown beng about 10 minutes away.Pleasant, comfortable, light, airy appartment and two very convenient local shops a 5 minute walk away with bus stop into Edinburgh City Centre just outside appartment complex. Price was the only positive because if I had paid any more for this accommodation, I would have been very annoyed and even at that it is still overpriced. The overall stay was very good only a few minor details that let it down. Freedom to come and go as you please.The apartment itself was good. A good size and clean. The flat was well equipped and adequate for our needs.We liked the space and privacy - The rooms are fairly spacious plus there is ample and free car parking (a rareity in this city) - the rooms are quite up to date, modern even, and are appointed with most facilities you will need for a week or so stay. Conveient for the bus routes to Ocean Terminal (HMY Briotannia) and the City Centre (route 34). The staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing outstanding.The quality of the exterior and relation to the city centre, outstanding but the inside quality absolutley nothing like the picture which is seemed to be on a budget scale.Very misleading.Apartments are modern and clean, heating is available via independantcombi boiler, so hot water always available. Location to city centre isreasonable, if by taxi service which is very reliable. There was nothing I didn't like.The breakfast wasn't quite what we were expecting. Continental breakfast made us expect croissants and maybe cold meats and cheese. We got a few slices of bread and some bags of cornflakes. Telephone was not working.everything was excellent except, mentioned point. it dosent serve full breakfast:). too far from city centre. It is hard work to find out the receiption. A little difficult to find, we drove by the place a couple times until we saw the small sign out front. Appartment not ready until 15.30 although stated 12.30 check-in. Requested 2 twin rooms (emphasised in special notes section) but one double and 1 twin on arrival although beds eventually changed upon request. Noisy area especially Friday night!. Where do I start, hard to find, apartment allocated to me was smelly and I wasn't going to stay at all, I was offered another apartment which has 2 double bed, which wasn't what I had booked but at 5pm I had little choice. Cleaning in apartments is terrible, stained carpet in the bathroom???, corners of all rooms dirty, in the original apartment the sheets had not been ironed, beds awful Would not recommend to anybody and would never stay there again. I should have known reception was chaotic. Room not ready when arrived. Full starter pack not received. Paid on arrival never received a receipt asked on a few occasions. Bed very hard.Firmness of mattress and noise from adjoining apartment throughout the night. Electronic disco music. Based on the neighborhood it was located in and the distance from Edinburgh city center, I think this apartment was overpriced. The building was not secure (no lock on the back door) and the continental breakfast was unprofessional (little baggies of cereal). Though a later departure time was agreed upon on arrival, the landlord entered the apartment without knocking in the morning. No good.The beds were incredibly hard and therefore uncomfortable. rooms and beds are small.An area of deep concern was finding the only smoke alarm covered up and rendered inoperative!!! I didn't like the collection of dead flies in the light shades - The beds and sofa's are quite uncomfortable (particularly the beds - hard and lumpy!!) - On the last morning the cleaners let themselves into the apartment without knocking first (good job I was dressed). service was pathetic ,. Well, were do I start.On arrival there was a man in the apartment, who did not introduce himself,but we took it that he has something to do with the apartment. There was supposed to be a double bed but was two singles instead. The continental breakfast was just cereal, not what i would class as continental.The apartment smelt of cigars.Blind fell of the wall.Kettle broke I could go on. Continental Breakfast is built into the rate, however do not class boxof Cornflakes and a couple of tea bags as breakfast. Discovered nokettle and glass plate in microwave was missing. Noise from next doorselectonic music kept us awake. Entertainment consisted of tv withlimited channels, no itv, Ch 4 or 5. No Digibox or dvd Player aspromised. Was there over the New Year, pity no staff were.beds hard . room had to be cleaned after we entered and found it dirty , could only pay cash and given a reciept with no connection to lochend apartments , nice cash deal for somebody , apart from that it was acceptable. The apartment was poorly equipped, the beds were lumpy, towels needed replacing, the apartment needed a good clean and upgrading - not 4 star!!!!.

Important information to guests

Please note Lochend Apartments do not have a luggage storage facility. Please note that check-in after 17:00 needs to be arranged with Lochend Serviced Apartments at least 24 hours prior to arrival. Failing to do so may result in a surcharge. Lochend Apartments office hours are 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday and 10:00-17:00 Saturday-Sunday. When you approach the complex, please enter by taking a right after you see the sign for Bethleham Way. You will see the Lochend Serviced Apartments sign on the grass, pointing to reception (main door 149, then apartment door 1). Please note that full payment will be taken on the day of arrival, using the card details provided when booking. Failure to do so can result in cancellation of the booking. Please bring with you the card which was used to make the booking and ID when checking in. A suitable apartment can be allocated. If the property is not informed in advance, a higher surcharge will apply or your booking may be refused. Please note that this property cannot accommodate stag or hen parties. However small groups are accepted. A refundable deposit of GBP 50 per person will be charged on check-in (only children of up to 12 years old are exempt). This deposit will be charged with no exceptions in a single transaction to cover damages and breakages. This can be done by card or in cash. The property reserves the right to withhold some or all of the security deposit of the credit/debit card provided in case of any damage, guest misconduct, excessive electricity usage, and breaches to regulations such as smoking in the rooms. Security deposits may also be used by management in the event of unauthorised extra guests using the room and facilities. Security deposits held on a credit card (via a pre-authorisation) or charged to a debit card will be refunded as per the issuing bank’s policy. Typically this may take 3-10 working days however, some banks do take longer. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform Lochend Serviced Apartments in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. A security deposit of GBP 200 is required upon arrival for incidentals. This deposit is fully refundable upon check-out and subject to a damage inspection of the accommodation.

There is a bus stop right outside the complex which will take you into the centre of Edinburgh and to Waverly train station within 7 minutes. There are many bus routes nearby, which can take you across the city.

There is a Sainsbury’s supermarket within 5 minutes’ walk of the apartments and there are also 2 local shops right outside Lochend Apartments’ front door.
