I loved the facilities, pool sauna gym etc. We booked an evening meal in the resturant were the food and service was of the highest standard. On my next visit i will be booking in for a few of the spa treatments also available to guests!!. Very friendly and helpful staff-We were allowed to explore through the Hotel -Lovely hotel and location and we both enjoyed a wonderful breakfast-really kept us going for the day!. all reviews »

No - it was first rate.the smoking rooms should be kept to the back of the hotel unstead of the front, its a good walk from the new wing to the reception. The only downside is that there is no residents bar, During my staythere was a lot of weddings and the bar was packed. we asked for a smoking room but didn't get it - and they said that the smoking rooms were of lesser quality. bar facilities beer very flat. the check in time was 4:00pm I felt was a bit late, as the last order for the bar food was 6:00pm, I didnt feel we had time to shop then dash back. the price of room service-£6 to have something brought to your room.distance from city centre. Its location can be difficult to find especially as directions appear wrong. No hairdrier. After 7pm there was no bar menu - if you wanted to eat it had to be in the restaraunt. food. 1) Food orders in the bar stop at 18:45 as the restaurant takes over then for food - I prefer the bar menu as it's better value for business trip on a company budget so would have like to have a meal from the bar menu, but later in the evening. found the bar area to be less welcoming and quite cold in comparison to other parts of the hotel - perhaps because of its open plan design.On arrival we found the Hotel had a special offer running for January - Two nights B+B with one evening Dinner with wine for two people £150 for all in - As we had booked two nights B+B for £190 we asked at the desk if we could could have the dinner added to our booking for free - We were told this wasn't possible as we had booked through Bookings.com! the system wouldn't allow a change it!!. The food in the restaurant. The meal that night was poor and also breakfast was poor.cause of the hassel with the room we didn't have time 2 eat in the downstairs bar for dinner and we were not suitably dressed for main restaurant. we had to have room service which there was an extra charge for. The food isn't up to a great standard.The heater was not working and it made a lot of noise and had to switch it off and settle for a smaller mobile unit. The bar was closed at 11pm.It is too early.Specially at New Year 31st December.It was a ball,however we did not find the information when we booked.Found it hard to get something to eat. The bar food closes at 6.45 and the restaurant doesnt open until 7 and it is very hard to get a booking at the descent time. Had to wait 90 min for the room. Having dinner at 8oclock and not getting starter till 9oclock. Dinnerservice very slow. the restaurant service on the night we ate in there was poor.The heating in the room was very noisy. During the time we stayed there was a wedding and 2 xmas parties - bar was very understaffed by inexperienced staff. The hotel was also noisy during the night with wedding guests etc we were woken at 5.30am by very noisy guests despite there being signs asking guests to be quiet - not the fault of the hotel but rather rude guests. Given a dirty room when we first arrived. I returned to my room late afternoon and my door had been left open by the cleaner. We had no internet in our room plus no mobile phone reception in the room, which made my business visit difficult. We were checked into our room at 4pm, but when we went up to the room, it was still being cleaned. We had to wait an additional hour. This was an inconvenience. Also the bar doesn't serve food after 6:30 at night. When I asked why, they said the bar was too busy after that time. No.
