On arrival we were warmly greeted & asked if we needed any information regarding our stay. We were soon given a map with directions to local restaurants etc. The accomodation was very comfortable, immaculate & the shower was perfect. Our cooked breakfast was absolutely lovely! Would highly recommend & would definitely stay again. Our stay was truely "home from home". Brilliant stay in every way, great location near the Cam river and colleges, free wifi and even on site parking. We stayed in the small double room which was quiet and pleasantly sunlit and breakfast was 4star. The host does everything with soft spoken class that is a rarity to find today. Highly recommended.
all reviews » The hotel was about 15 mins from the town centre. We arrived early and there was no problem with leaving our luggage. As it turned out, the room was ready for us. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. An impressive selection to choose from. Wi-Fi was freely available. Very friendly staff. Room was a good size and very clean and comfortable. Location was close enough to the centre of Cambridge to allow a leisurely walk to the attractions and the off-road parking, included in the price, was very convenient. Breakfasts were excellent. The apartment with kitchen/dining/sitting facilities was perfect for what we needed. We had to be out early on Saturday and they arranged a continental breakfast in the apartment. Very helpful. staff was amazing. breakfast very good. while the house itself didn't have a great atmosphere the room was really welcoming and cozy. The free parking was a plus. close to a bus station. The room and bathroom had everything you could need and was beautifually clean and comfortable. The breakfast had the biggest choice you could imagine and all tasty and generous. very comfortable clean room, excellent breakfasts....very welcoming atmosphere....plenty of parking space and a willingness to allow us to park even after we had checked out. Very comfy room - we were upgraded to the basement self catering suite so had an extra room to relax in and make coffee etc. Breakfast had very wide choice and was good. Only slight gripe was that our room was in the bungelow at the back,this was also where the breakfast room was located, which was not a problem but whoever came to cook the breakfast at 7-45 was talking very loudly. My husband and I would probably have slept on a bit longer but this was not possible. Other then that there were no problems. Breakfast tables were pushed together so you felt like you were on the same table as someone you didn't know - but I appreciate it was the only way to be able to accommodate all the guests at breakfast. the fact that the dining room/office was separate from the main accommodation which when raining (as it was) presented a problem!. Bed awful. Frame very noisy so couldn't turn over without waking up! Mattress quite soft. can't think of anything. Nothing. nothing. furniture in room dated. Just one negative and that is that the distance from the accommodation to town centre is not a ten minute walk as advertised more like twenty. a bit far from city center. No chair/table in room. Velux windows in roof couldn't be left open due to fear of rain. upon arriving at the property, we did not know where to check in because the instructions on the door were not very noticeable. also, dragging the luggage down the sandy slope is very inconvenient. We were leaving the hotel at 7:30 am in the morning. This is not very early time. Still, there was no staff seen anywhere, the calls trying to find them went unanswered and there was nobody to call us a taxi and to give the keys back to. Second bedroom was in attic,window did not open,room was so hot it could not be used,had to carry mattress down stairs into living area for kids to sleep on.Owner is aware of this problem,but is still letting the room,Would not recommend this B+B. Our room was literally the basement. There was no wifi signal, so I had to step outside to get some. Breakfast room in separate annexe Busy road outside bedroom. Room at front of house, so lot of road noise - better glazing needed. Need better blackout blinds. Broken shower head. Shower pressure sadly lacking. Room was very small and located close to a busy intersection. Very dated and annoying room.
