Fridge in room had been switched off, so took a while to get cold. distance from city centre. The shower unfortunately did not work for us. Some noise during the night from the room above ie from someone walking up and down through the night. Road noise from A14. Shower and basin water was slow to drain and did not exactly gush! Limited TV channels. the gym could do with being a bit bigger, but it did have everything i needed.the prices of mini bar and menu were outrageous . Where i would have liked to have eat in the comfort of my room, i couldnt justify the prices you charge so had to go in to town to find somewhere more reasonable. Also some of the machines in the gym are death traps, i would advised these be removed before someone gets seriously injured. Lat pull down and upright row namely. The only problem we had was with the shower - the receptionist did arrange for someone to repair it very quickly, but the 2nd day it still caused problems . We did leave a note on the feedback form when we left.It wasn't as clear that you could get bar food from the info in the room, and we were a little hot in the night so had a bit of trouble sleeping. restaurant too dark in the evening. The bar prices. Room looked out onto rather ugly roof. Considering the rate, I guess this is not too important! The shower control in the bathroom was difficult to turn on and equally difficult to turn off. Along with a few other details, the room seemed due for a refurbishment.a bit far away from the hospital, so cost a lot in taxis. did not realise this when booking. Rooms not ready despite 2pm check in time. the restaurant was closed and we wernt told this on booking. The restaurant - had a pasta dish, a microwave dinner would have been nicer. Was good value for money for families - but if you can avoid eating there I would! Apart from the restaurant everything else in the hotel was perfect.when going to have dinner in the restaurant, there was plent of seats but no staff to cover the tables so we had to have our starter at the bar and then when a table was avalible we were seated. A minor point, perhaps - but annoying nonetheless when one is away for one night on a business trip and therefore travelling with the minimum of luggage - I discovered that the hotel had skimped on tissues: there were only 3 tissues in the container in the bathroom. It is nice to be able to rely upon the little essentials being provided.Poor value of mediocre food in restaurant - however, no worse than most chain hotels. I had a joining room and the sound travelled easily between the rooms. next doo rhad a party at 2 am and it took two calls to the front desk before the noise reduced. the shower is not easy and obvious to operate. Had to stay in a smoking room as all non smoking had been taken eventhough I booked a non smoking room.poor meal (tortilini) looked as if it came out of a tin....however service was good. The excessive cost of Breakfasts. The nightly rate for stay was different than that quoted from your website....daily newspaper was not free as indicated by the receptionist. Noise coming from the room on upper level. Saturday they were able to cope with but the numbers of Sunday overwhelmed them: it was unpleasantly crowded at breakfast and many items ran short at the buffet. There is a real problem of noise in the corridors and rooms upstairs. Their brochure advertised free internet access, but in fact it cost to access it. The long distance from the front desk to the rooms with luggage- should be another entry / exit closer to the car park and rooms. Some staff were quite unhelpful and bordered on rude, while others were very pleasant.Not being offered the concessionary rate for breakfast when booking in. We were initially charged £13.95 when we could have had the breakfast for £9.95. When we complained about this however our bill was reduced by the difference. Also the charges for drinks at the bar were far to high West End prices rather than a small Cambridgeshire town price!. Lighting in bedroom (dreadfully dim), bedlights which did not match, bathroom lighting (same), washbasin which would not hold water. Trouser press which did not work, no written details of hotel facilities in room.Trouble from noisy abusive guests who ransacked the hotel , police werecalled in by the hotel , the kitchens and bedrooms were ransacked this wasnot the hotels fault it could have happened any were , the staff weremore than apologetic ,and dealt with the matter very graciously afterthe event.It is I am sure unusual for such a situation to occur at sucha quality hotel.
