very helpful front of house staff .. helped me to set up my phone to use the wifi facilities... and very welcoming, friendly and helpful.good selection of tea making facilities replenished when used, nice size room, very clean and good size shower and two comfy easy chairs ..... generally a good all round experience.. my first time at a days inn and could highly recommend.... Using this form on my smart phone and in section 2 the ratings didn't have markers to show what each circle stood for. I marked the last circle in each category assuming it meant very good or excellent. We were very happy with the generously sized family room, access to the food court and staff. Was very handy for our trip to Cambridge and would use it again.
all reviews » It was perfect for our one night stopover for an event in Cambridge. Clean, comfortable, quiet, easy to get to, very courteous and efficient staff. The negative comments of previous guests worried us, but it turned out to be a needless worry. If you want the Ritz, stay at the Ritz. This suited us fine. Clean and comfortable, easy to get to, adjacent to a particularly good Services with ample food options, and very importantly allowed us to bring our two dogs at no extra charge. Instead of a tiny patch of grass to walk the dogs, there is a small mini-park full of newly planted trees. The helpfulness of the staff, especially reception. The comfort and facilities, and everything made easy - if you forgot anything you could request it. The room was lovely, and the bed very comfortable, and very near where you can get everything you need, food/books etc... Basic accomodation but good value for money for a quick one night business stop-over. Friendly staff, clean room, kettle and tea (more expensive hotels don't always have this). Value breakfast in a bag was ideal for a quick start in the morning. No complaints whatsoever. main bed comfy, very clean, friendly staff, the free breakfast had to be ordered before midnight which we couldnt and hence couldnt get breakfast in the morning (the hotel is attached to the services...so we bought breakfast there). Bed moved on its wheels when lying back on the headboard. No facilities for breakfast on the first morning - it had ' not arrived the night before. Made us think it would be a bit stale! A guide with local pubs would be helpful!. No public transport close by for transport into Cambridge that I am aware of. On our arrival at home, my son discovered he had left some homework in the room so my husband called the hotel at about 11.45pm and the room had been re sold to someone else!!!! Good occupancy for the hotel!!. Wifi is a nightmare, hardly can log in. The price of breakfast is a bit expensive. If you switch on the heating in your room, a bit noisy. Aircon not working. The hot tap in the hand basin did not work. I asked for a wake-up call and didn't get it. You have to have breakfast in your room. The smell in the corridor and dirty threadbare carpet. My room was cold and the air-conditioning didn't seem to do much. Only cold water in the basin. Very noisy extractor fan in the bathroom. Not clear how to turn on the heated towel rail. Can't think of anything. The main entrance doors need some work- they were very hard to open and hold open. Because of my problems I did find the bed hard. The room smelt a little stale ( in your defense it was a smoking room so not really your fault) there were a few big stains on the floor. nothing to dislike. Nothing. Nothing. It gave us what we wanted at reasonable price in a friendly way. n/a. for the price, nothing, A great budget option esp for families with 3 children as they can all stay in one room. The sink plug in the room stuck so that the sink could not be emptied. The staff very quickly fixed the situation at the time but the next morning exactly the same thing happened and unfortunately we were not then in the position, time wise, to wait for the problem to be resolved. I would have preferred the sink to be in a bathroom rather than the main room. There were no problems. No complaints. Decor bit dated public areas. Only 1 towel for 2 of us Bed could be a bit more comfortable,. Poor tv reception. You need to have a car to be able to travel out to Cambridge since there is no public transport available. The lack of an elevator, which made carrying our luggage on the rooms a bit difficult. Poor cleanliness of the shower unit and the water drain from the sink in room 111. Air-con was useless, so the room was like an oven, couldn't leave windows open due to the amount of bugs that would come in. It is quite far from Cambridge, so is only suitable for those with cars. Room not as clean as I have previously had could do with curtains and carpet updating. Curtains hanging off rail which should have been noticed by cleaners. The shower room got really full of steam and we found it hard to breathe in there. Iron cable length was a wee bit short to plug in safely. Shower was good, shame its safety feature for the temp control was broken, possibly dangerous for children. Only 1 pillow each.
