A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!

The concierge, both Mr Alp and Mr Jim were extremly helpful in providing plans and maps regarding the best in istanbul. when i booked this hostel i booked for 3 person for 2 beds for 2 male , and 1 for female. but when we got there they provide us 1 double room not 2 bed in a six dormitory dorm, and 1 bed in a female dorm , so we could used the room for 3 person becasue the bed was enough for 2 person, so it was like we are living in a hotel not hostel . the hostel was so clean, and everything was ok.
