Much nicer than expected, considering it has the word 'hostel' in the name -- it seemed more like a hotel! It was also quite uniquely decorated. The hostel was an excellent price for something close to the airport, since one of us had to arrive late and leave early. The staff were helpful in directing us to public transportation and in securing a taxi. There is a desktop computer with internet you can use for free in the lobby. There is a bus a few blocks away that goes straight to the closest .
all reviews » Convenient location close to airport, although you need to take a taxi to get there (about 12-15 Lira unless taxi driver rips you off - which he usually tries). Contrary to what a lot of people wrote, the noise by airplanes is not very strong. Indeed it is almost below the flightpath, but the windows are very well isolated, and as I am living below a flightpath myself, I can assure you that noise level in this hostel is way below. the hostel is very close to ataturk airport. you can take a taxi from the airport for about 11 tl. the people on the reception was extremly helpful they did their best to solve my personal problem (about sending my luggage to somewhere else). the hostel is far away from touristic city center but i am sure there are ways for public transportation. i think the hostel is the best for the stays between the indirect flights. The place is very cheap compared to other hotels in the same area. I got worried from the word "hostel" at the beginning but this place is really nice and clean. The room is probably not the best one you can get, but it is very clean with a private bathroom. They also include a nice Turkish breakfast. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner at your own cost. Excellent location, only a 12 lira taxi drive from airport and a 5 minute walk from Starcity outlet mall. The staff were extremely helpful, the restaurant manager went out of his way to assist me during breakfast and even repoured my turkish tea for me with a better ratio of water to tea so that it would taste better. and the breakfast buffet was exceptional. I was really surprised how wonderful everything is for such a low price. The location next to the airport is excellent for those who need to spend a night or two in the city. The interior design is splendid. The breakfast is abundant and very healthy, not to mention the personnel who is always willing to help. I love so much the Turkish hospitality!. I just needed a cheap but nice hotel near the airport and this is exactly what I got. Nothing too fancy, a bunkbed, my own bathroom with shower, a locker, a TV...all the essentials and nothing more. Breakfast was included and it was adequate. Again, nothing too special there but exactly what I needed. The staff was helpful and friendly. The staff and reception were excellent, and the rooms are small but functional. It was a cozy place to return after scouring a cold, wet Istanbul in December. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms had hand soap, body soap and shampoo. There were two English tv channels available, and wifi worked well. Convenient hotel for few hours stopping over Istanbul airport to have rest and take shower or early morning check in. Room was nice and clean. Very simple. Only thing is that it was so hot at night since there was no air-conditioning. I highly recommend this place if you don't mind the heat during hot season. 5 minutes in a taxi, from the airport,very clean, staff very helpful, I had booked for August instead of September, and had my August booking fee returned fully from the hotel even though the mistake was mine. The location is very close to Ataturk airport, about ten minutes; the staff is very helpful each time we stay there, and the restaurant has decent Turkish food at fair price, Rooms are always clean. The location was excellent for Ataturk Airport. We only stayed one night as we had an early flight the next morning. The room was very clean. The decor of the hotel was interesting featuring fossils and semi precious stones in an interesting manner. There are eateries nearby. Very pleasant and we will stay again. As promised, Han Hostel is very close to the airport, making it an excellent choice if you have an early flight to catch. The rooms are clean, and there are lots of common areas in the building, including a reading room and a restaurant with pretty good food. Fabulous location for Ataturk Airport. We had a 5 hour stop over & it took us approx 8 minutes to get to Hostel. Had booked a 2nd room for my elderly mother & requested it be near our double room & staff organised this. Harika!. I highly recommand this hotel. Great value for you money. Clean and comfortable stay. Even though its far away from sultanahmed main touristic area, yet pretty near the airport. With public transport system Sultanahmed Area is 45min away. Really good value, 10 minutes from Ataturk airport. The rooms were clean and we found the beds comfortable. The room doesn't have an air conditioner but it has a ceiling fan which was enough for me. The single room is very small. Just a bedroom and a small table to study. Wi-Fi is included but the signal is a little bit weak (depending on your room). If you're looking for somewhere to stay a night, this is more than enough. The restaurants dinner service is a bit confusing and the waiter staff don't seem to know how to do their job. Was asked 3 time by 3 different waiters for our orders. The hostel description mentions that there is no a/c, so I saw it coming, but it was a little rough not having air conditioning when it was nearly 40 degrees outside. However, the room was not nearly as stifling as it could have been. Nothing, other than the staircase before reaching the elevator. Tea/coffee making facility in the room would have been nice. Nothing. No minibar. Cab drivers haggle/complain about the short drive this hotel has from Ataturk Airport. Would be nice if they operated an airport shuttle for a few extra euros!. Noise from adjoining rooms all night. Everything was great!. 1) They lacked air conditioning and it is in a location with a rather hot climate 2) Some of the staff did not understand English. The taxi ride to and from Airport is always unpleasant because the drivers do not like the short run. Han needs to do something about this. Nothing. This hotel offer free shuttles to closest metro station but the selection is pretty few. There is also no public transportation near this hotel. A little bit noisy during nighttime when somebody comes to/leaves the nearby rooms. The room was very small but I guess for one night is okay. As other people suggested they should have lunch bags for those who have to leave early in the morning to catch their flight. Asked them for a wake up call but they forgot. luckily I had turned my alarm clock on. Thin walls allow sound from next door room to be heard. No airport shuttle. Long way from attractions,expensive cab ride,no public transport. Little bit noisy because of flights, don't forget your air plugs. Room we stayed at was rather small, but it is ok for one night layover between flights. Nothing. Ended up being a bit far to get into the city center, but we booked the hotel specifically for its proximity to the airport, so that is to be expected. the rooms are small, but very clean and totally adequate.
