We stayed at Crystal Bay for 5 nights and we absolutely loved it. Staff were so helpfully and could do enough for you. Happy hour is 5 till 7 and the Mojitos were great. We had a room with a sea view and what a view it was, the beach was gorgeous and clean. Crystal Bay is between Lamai and Chaweng its only a couple of £1 in a taxi. We hired a scooter for 5 days and it worked out about £3 a day. But be carful because what we didn’t know was you aren’t insured on the bike if you have an accident .

The view from the restaurant and pool area is specatular and the resort is really well located in terms of being quiet and yet just a short drive away from the more busy crowds and nightlife. Wifi was the best i have experienced on a holiday, it stretched all the way across the beach strip.The manager and staff were really wonderful, friendly and helpful. I had booked for 2 nights...and i wish i had booked for more. A great place to . The Staff went out of thier way to ensure we enjoyed our time with them and the Location was absolutely perfect. For what we were after we could not have asked for a better place, centrally located on the Island with the best Beach on the Island. Food was great and atmosphere was very relaxed. The location is wonderful, right above the small and picturesque beach of Crystal bay, most likely the nicest on Samui. We had the Grand Sea View Room, which is the uppermost of the hotel and the view from the extensive balcony was amazing! Room, sheets and towels were very clean. The beach here really is special - so lovely! Everything was perfect our rooms was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great (they even made us breakfast when we got up late and missed the buffet). The staff really try to make you feel at home. Fabulous!. Grand Sea View room is amazing indeed, you can watch the panoramic sea view directly from your bed. The small bay is very nice during the day as not crowded at all and no trespassing like in Chaweng. Peaceful location but close to Lamai and Chaveng. It was rocky but interesting as this attracted rather alot of marine life. The water was warm and inviting and the resort is almost right on the water. We had a room which was on the ocean side of the resort and only metres from the sand. Other guests complained at being put at the back of the resort facing the road. The area is quite isolated and there was no opportunity to shop, except for the convenience store which was about a 15 minute walk. It was a . We liked that we could afford a beach/sea view. Wish I had booked a room that had a sea-facing view, although my room had a lovely view of a 'Flame of the forest' tree. It is not a real resort but rather a hotel right above a beach. The structure is a bit old and, despite being still ok, would look much better if refurbished a little. Also the quality of the restaurant is quite poor. The breakfast is boring. Very few sunbeds (4 for the whole hotel). You have to pay your bill in advance and you cannot ad any consumption to your room account, but pay instantly, which is not very friendly. The small bay can be boring through the night or on a rainy day, so you need a taxi to go out. The road side room is a bit noisy, but acceptable. Not a walk distance to any of the attraction areas. Requires renting motorbike or taking tuk tuk. Nothing to report. nothing. No HOT water in shower, and sewer smell in bathroom. We felt that the choice at breakfast was a little limited but quite good considering the cost of the room. When we arrived, there was tea and coffee in our room, which was never replenished during our 5 night stay. I have a bad back and the beds were really hard. I would go back to this resort if they changed the beds. Didn't like the traffic noise. The bathroom blocked some of it because it was on the streetside, but you could still hear it well enough. The plumbing also made a lot of noise and woke me up on a few occasions--sounded like a music base; I actually thought it was neighbors' music at first. The room was clean, but the room door had cracks from warping and the secondary door lock didn't work. Mosquitoes got in either through the bathroom or the door cracks. Very poor breakfast. The bathroom water had a heating problem. The rooms are different with the pictures povided in Booking.com, in fact the room were smaller. No room service at all - couldn't get anything put in the mini bar unless you bought it in the bar and carried it to the room. Nothing can be charged to the room - everything must be paid for cash. Everything inc the bar and reception closed by 10.30. Limited choice of food and drink. Some of the staff clearly haven't grasped the service ethic. Slightly overpriced, especially beers on site. Lack of local amenities, shops, restaurants. A bit of a walk to closest shop etc. lacked a bit of atmosphere, but nice stay for a few quiet days to relax on beach. Pool was a bit small and no sun lounger. Toiletries was given on 1st day but not topped up everyday. We had to put empty bottles on bed to get more shampoo. Location was a bit far to walk unless you got a hire car. Which we did, easy to go anywhere. Taxi is expensive for a short journey. We had deluxe room but there was no slippers, coffee/tea maker, we get toiletries only first day, housekeeping don't vacuuming the floor and balcony they only wipe the floor what can be a problem with the sand all over the room.Don't have a sign "Don't disturb/Clean my room" and option to clean linen or not. We had RATS in our room. I´ve stayed at a lot of hotels in my days but never have i seen rats in the room. When we talked to the receptionist she didn´t believe us, but then she saw it. When we talked to the managment the next day, same day as we checked out, he said ; Oh, thank you, and walk away. We have not recieved any compensation. If you enjoy rats, this is the hotel for you. My room was nothing like it was shown on the website. It smelled, the bathroom was a disaster. The bed was harder than a rock.
