The hosts (Mr Pong and his wife) were very friendly, helpful and service oriented (they live directly near the resort). The location is excellent: directly on the beach, so that one can enjoy great ocean view. A clean room. 2 free bottles of water every day. There is an empty small refrigerater in the room. Many restaurants, a pharmacy and a 7-11 shop are nearby. Baan Rim Lay was excellent. rhe hotel is just 3 massive beachfront rooms. So much space! Can't go wrong. Lovely balcony, AC in room, personal sunbeds on the beach, free wifi. Super clean. Huge bathroom. Our room was only 6 months old so everything new. Family run and super friendly with everything, great personalised service. Highly recommended.
all reviews » Amazing hotel. Very spacious rooms, they are situated on an amazing stretch of beach, possibly the nicest I've seen in Thailand. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The room has seating area inside, on a private patio and has 2 reserved beach loungers. This was one of my highlights in Thailand. My fiance and I loved everything about this hotel! The rooms were gorgeous and right on the beach. Definitely the best hotel on the island! Also, the hotel owners are so nice and do everything to make their guests feel welcome. The room was the best, very comfortable, well thought out and the lay out of the room was great. If the weather was better we would of extended our stay. Lovely place. Loved everything about Baan Rim Lay. The island was very calm, easy to go around, you can rent a motorbike for 5€/day. Really everything! Hospitality of Mr. Pong and his wife, the place, the beach, nothing to regret about. Room, beach, cleaning, atmosphere, people, view, service, value. - very friendly family - nice rooms - near to the beach. Lovely location and great staff. Super clean. It's not the fault of the resort, but: the beach and the sea were full of plastic trash! Besides, there were many apparently homeless dogs on the beach. My girlfriend and I wanted to spend a couple of relaxing days on the beach and to swim, but we couldn't enjoy it. Swimming in the ocean among trash is just not fun - it's actually pretty disgusting. So, Ko Lanta became a major disappointment for us. Through absolutely no fault of the hotel, we were here in low season and unfortunately the beaches along Ko Lanta in the days we were there were pounded by continuous strong winds. Nothing! Best hotel and staff I've seen in a long time!. The weather, but this is no reflection on Baan Rim Lay. The sea was a bit rough so I didn't have the chance to see the clear blue waters. But this was nature's fault!. Well, the only thing, that ew didn't like was breakfast, as the resort didn't have there own restourant, they gave us coons for breakfast to the nearest restourant. So actually, thats not the minus of BRLay, but the minus of the restourant, very poor brekfast, without good coffee. It's better to have smth from 7/11 and have breakfasts independently. Road was a bit noisy. Not a big problem though.
