We stayed in a Junior suite in the Thani wing (on beach) Bhuri wing is across the road and not as nice. We also had a family package which included a fantastic huge buffet breakfast and 10% of all other F & B in the resort. Great Happy Hour in beach bar. Also, just a short ride in taxi or tuk tuk to Kata or Karon shops and lots of restaurants. We stayed as well at Bang Tao beach at Outrigger Resort which was beautiful and more luxurious - but preferred Katathani due to its location and .
all reviews » Really nice hotel, lots of facilities, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, nice location away from the hustle and bustle of Kata. The first night we had a lot of noise around our room in a ground floor Bhuri wing room (near to the breakfast restaurant), so the next morning I spoke to reception and they immediately moved us to a top floor room elsewhere in the Bhuri wing and after that we slept very well. Worth getting down to the little cafes on the beach and grab yourself a cheap coco. All staff are unbelievably friendly and carry a lovely presence. Serene and pristine from the second we arrived to the day we left. All facilities were immaculate and perfect for our use. The on site restaurants and bars were of a consistently impressive standard and were lovely to be in. Daily activities timetable provided a fantastic and insightful alternate. It's near the beach. Beautiful surroundings. Nice and quite. The hotel is clean. Nice restaurants. Great massages on the beach. The hotel allowed us to check out later than agreed as we had a late flight. Breakfast was also very good. Lots to choose from. Very good location, a little bit far away from Kata Beach, but taking taxi only 5min for 200B. Stunning location , gorgeous beach , the resort was lovely the pools awesome, very tropical feel in a quiet area with no one to hassle you , great massages in the grounds on the deck chairs , we enjoyed our stay. - nice location: no traffic, quiet, gourgeous surroundings (mountains covered with rainforests) - very good cocktails in Cinnamon restaurant - overall very good food. Evrything. great location vis a vis the beach but a little further from kata/karon if you're looking for somewhere new to eat at each night - not a problem if you have a car or don't mind taking a taxi nightly. lovely staff, well laid out hotel. Even though it says its a public beach every part of it felt private. The food served at the pools was excellent and not at all pricey compared to the restaurants outside or in Karon. The Thani wing is well worth the price you pay for it and in addition to the bea. All people are friendly and very helpful. Private beach. Nice pools. On first inspection was a little dissappointed with rooms decor - lots of dark wood - which is traditional Thai but could do with a makeover - big in size and king bed was extremely comfortable. However, did notice that a whole wing of the hotel was closed and rooms being renovated. Only a minor gripe, but the hotel is huge, so it can take a while to walk to certain things e.g. walking to the bigger gym from the Bhuri wing takes a while! Could be a little bit cheaper. Internet Connection is not very well. If you like being surrounded by stores and the nightlife, this is not the place to be there. None. Air conditioners noisey in rooms , room very small , the balcony could only fit 2 people on it , the exterior lighting around our room wasn't great at night and with all the steps I found it to be abit dangerous, pre booked single beds for the boys but arrived to find a double , food and drinks are pricey , a little disappointed overall but still enjoyed it. - after the storm there was some amounts of thrash in the water and on the beach. However that lasted only for couple days. - beef skewers on BBQ nights in Cinnamon were very hard to chew. - expensive restaurants and drinks (to much for Thailand). Beside the hotel, there is almost nothing in the area. I would have prefered more choices in restaurants. Pricy restaurants. Expensive spa (had to use massage saloon outside of hotel). Internet was sometimes really slow. Bhuri wing - is another hotel, don't get mixed up. It's behind the road and rooms are not so good. rubbish on the beach. Our room was the first in the building so it was very humid inside because of rainy season. But room next to us where stayed our parents was dry. Internet connection was poor and very slow. Too many mosquitoes! Pretty humidity. Room facility is a little bit old. Rooms smell of humidity Gym time up to 5pm Personnel in contact with client should be more capable with English language. We had very cold showers two of the three days we were there. It was inexcusable. The food and drinks were also very overpriced. If you wanted to sit on the beach, you had to pay for the use of the chair. weather. The vehicle transfer. Specifically, the driver of the car on the return transfer to the airport drove excessively fast (up to 150 kph) and in a jerky manner, making for uncomfortable and stressful trip. On that basis we will not be returning to Katathani. Price of taxi's. Wifi was terrible.... Travelled for 10 weeks through Europe and finished in kata and this is by far the worst wifi we had. The Humidity -- lack of a good quility air condiioned lounge bar to relax in the evening rather than outside bars only. small & dirty room, no free beach, weak wifi signal in the room. it's huge! nothing very personal about it and the housekeeping isnt the best - often the floor looked unswept and the complimentary drinking water wasnt replaced each day. still, not very many issues. The transportation sucks they are too much thieves. I booked from airport to hotel at 1100 Bhat for minivan and I told them to book the same for me from hotel to airport. But they bought small car for me and I refused to take it and I asked for the same minivan and they refused to bring to me so I told them I cant take this small car since I have 5 family members. So they charged me for 500 bhat for not taking the car adn refused to bring to me minivan as I requested. Staff wasnt too friendly and some cant even speak proper english. Charges you for wifi and only give one device free. Gave us 2 after my boyfriend made some noise. In patong, all hotels and even small local shops offer free wifi. This is silly as customers nowadays like to post instantly which will help in free advertising. Food was just so-so considering it has a few restaurants to choose from but considering it's class, I expect better quality.
