We arrived at the Anantara in the evening and were promptly checked in and shown our room. It took a few minutes for us honeymooners to realise we had been given twin beds much to our dismay, guest services offered to move us to another room but we had to wait a couple of hours for it to be available, not a great start.... My concerns immediately dissipated when we were shown to our new room, a complimentary upgrade to a "suite", which is actually just a much larger, better appointed room. If y.

Big hotel but you don/t sence that, the setup of the buildings (3 wings) and gardens give it a hidden, cozy atmosphere. Breakfast is amaaaaazing! Free shuttle boat to Central pier every half hour. From late afternoon also stop at Asiatique (great shopping and dining) on the other side of the river). Good gym with group classes like step/yoga/stretching. Very nice It. Hotel's boat to the central Pier is supportive. We enjoyed a lot the calm and peacefull riverside place of the resort; at 5 minutes by the complamentory boat, we enjoyed the restaurants and shops of the Asiatique Market, on the other side of the river. Also, the luxurious restaurants, bars with live music bands let us enjoy such Resort. The breakfast was wonderfull, the best we had during our Honeymoon tour. Helpful city guru (good to ask for advice) and efficient personnels (all speak english. It really allows you to disconnect from the city, like going to the country side even though the hotel is in Bangkok. The green spaces, the pool, the restaurants, the sweets store that drove our kids crazy, its location so close from Asiatique to connect again with the world for dinner or shopping are just perfect. The breakfast offer and quality is just unrivaled. We are definitely coming back soon. Everything! Sometimes there is unpleasent smell from the small river whıch ıs passing inside of hotel and the main river also dirty . Hotel must see them as a part of the hotel and try to clean and keep clean . Food was ok but not great . the equipments are old,for example,the light in my room is broken. In my previous visits to Bangkok, i had stayed in Inter Con (very central and close to Siam Sqaure)... so this time, it was a different experience (to take a ferry and the sky tube to get to the city centre). A good place for people who want to relax and dont care must about being in the middle of action.... Wifi should be free 24/7 and not just 30 mins complimentary like all the other 3 star hotels we stayed in during our travels in Thailand! For the cost of your stay here I'm sure they can do this!. The food in the hotel outlets was great, but extremely pricy! For two sandwiches and one espresso and a juice we paid 1680tb, which is ridiculous price in Bkk. Nothing !!!. The hotel was bigger than expected. The concierge was not very nice and let down our overall feeling of the customer service staff. The pool area is very crowded, great for families with small children, but not if you want a quite relaxing read by the pool. The costs for spa treatments are very high for Thailand . The position, which is across the river from the main city centre, meant that we needed to start and end nearly every outing with the river taxi which ran at 30 minute intervals. Suggest resort removes the tiles in the middle of the footpaths, I fell twice and injured my foot quite badly the second time. Lucky it was me and not a child or elderly person who may have split their head open or worse!. Swimming pool. I was suspicious about to swim, the water was like a jelly mix of dirty and chlorine. nothing. Junior suit was indeed small; a bit disappointment. Location a bit away from city center. Charged for breakfast for kids, who hardly ate any thing. No Muslim shower. Too many sun loungers around the pool. Smell of frying from outdoor cafe when at the pool. Nothing. Lack of shops!! At present building condominiums with shopping mall opposite hotel!. communication with front desk staff.wifi was stated as costing to use but it was free. It is a little far from main attractions. Nothing- there was nothing I didn't love. Went for buffet dinner was escorted to table then left for 15 mins before waiter came to take drinks orders, we also had to wait long time for bill, we then went to riverside bar were again we waited over 10 mins to order drink and further 20 for it to arrive was most disappointed in service and after having stayed before surprised that it was so poor, would have 2nd thoughts about going even though we love this place. Food and beverage cost little high. there was nothing to not like. nothing. everything is perfect. Nothing. Hot food at breakfast wasn't kept warm (bacon, hash browns) on the one occasion that I wanted a hot breakfast. Breakfast, yes great buffet but I don't eat much at breakfast and when I chose from the menu, sorry that not available so back to the overpriced buffet for my fruit muesli and coffee. Also didn't like the fact that the night consierge spoke down to us when trying to order transport to the airport for the next morning. Will not be staying here again, much better options in better location and better value for money. Also the khlong running through the resort had an unpleasant smell. free internet in room limited to 30 minutes. Food and Restaurants are SO expensive with no justification. You can go outside the hotel to get the same food or better for half the price or less. Expensive charges.
